Brexit Vote Has Huge Ramifications for U.S. Politics
PJ Media ^ | 6/23/2016 | Roger L Simon

Posted on 06/26/2016 3:49:20 AM PDT by HomerBohn

News flash: The revolt against elites is real in the UK and America and it's only getting started. Maybe there will always be an England.

In a surprise, Leave won the Brexit referendum on whether to stay in the European Union by an equally surprising amount. British sovereignty won. David Cameron lost. Jeremy Corbyn lost. The EU lost. Bureaucrats lost. Angela Merkel lost. Barack Obama lost. Globalism lost. Authority figures almost everywhere lost. And, most of all, unlimited immigration lost.

So what happened to the vaunted British betting market that is almost invariably correct and was predicting by 80 percent a Remain victory? Or all those recent polls that were tilting Remain?

Answer: Those same elites had convinced each other they would win and therefore convinced the usual suspects—media, pollsters and, sadly, financial markets—that they were right. They were wrong. Watching them now on the BBC they still cannot comprehend what has happened. The peasants have revolted—oh no, oh no. There must be some mistake. Didn't they get the memo? The sky would fall if they left the EU.

Earth to elites: Citizens of truly democratic countries don't want unlimited immigration into their countries by people who couldn't be less interested in democracy. They also don't want to be governed by the rules and regulations of faceless bureaucrats whose not-so-hidden goals are power and riches for themselves and their friends. Simple, isn't it?

As mr. Obama says, diseases create jobs and give little bitter clingers something to worry about. The Ebola cases he brought to the country cost more than 10 million dollars per case to treat at taxpayers expense.

The limp wrested EU clueless libs do not even have the weapons to fight the Isis terrorist a few miles in Brussels .

The dirty little secret is the local military and police were out gunned by the Isis fighters who mostly escaped !

The media does not mention that fact .

I have a little nagging worry about Brexit. I wonder if the EU will react to their leaving their “More Perfect Union” as badly as Lincoln and the Federalist did in 1861.

As I've said in other threads, the EU doesn't have any military muscle of its own, no troops. Thus, the "Lincoln option" is off the table.

Germany isn't going try forcing the UK "back into the fold", on its own, either. To even attempt to do so would be expensive, with no real certain knowledge of success. Not a good investment for the banksters, and given the way the Bundeswehr is being run currently, all the UK would have to do is hold out until half-past teatime, then the German troops would cease operations, just as they did recently in a NATO exercise, to avoid paying the troops overtime pay (ain't unionization grand?)

So, you align with the prog criminals who want to destroy the United States. You’re on their side.

...and now we see how wars start.

...revolutionary, civil, intra-continental and intercontinental.

Could the Pax Americana be drawing to a close?

I read or heard the other day that these global diseases are part of the global agenda: if u have global problems (like these diseases), you need global solutions.

Global problems = global solutions.

Excellent post.

That is one reason for the media hype over certain diseases that is usually forgotten a couple of years later.

The elites are not happy with Brazil—thus the phony zika virus propaganda.

Trust me—in five years zika will be a Jeopardy question and at least one of the contestants will get it wrong.

The reason the major media speak in unison on so many topics is that they are owned and controlled by the super rich who want a world government—less leaders to bribe to control the game.

Lincoln didn't have any real military muscle of his own either. He had a relatively small Regular Army, many members of which left to join the other side. What he did have was the support of the Northern States and volunteers from those States, without which the outcome of the War Between the States would have been different.

I don't disagree with the rest of your post though.

I'm betting that that the polls were correct about preference but wrong about enthusiasm and therefore about turnout.

I hope we see some real analysis on this subject because it can closely relate to what we hope is happening with Trump vs Hillary.

Let the country have a peaceful separation; the prog criminals get the NE and West coast and the freedom lovers the rest.

Beyond ridiculous. It could NEVER be peaceful and your demarcations are laughable. The divisions within families, communities, etc. put the lie to your suggestion.

Just because we've settled our differences peacefully for the last 101 years does not mean that we will continue to do so.

Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

Remember how Time Magazine named Angela Merkel as Person of the Year last year, trying to further unlimited immigration as inevitable. As things stand now, Donald Trump should be Person of the Year for his contributions to transformational change on the world stage. No more World Think philosophy pushed by the globalist elites and their corrupt media mouthpieces.

Apologize. One of my best friends lives outside of San Juan, CA. I think that is Nevada County. I lived in the Bay Area for several years— a disgusting place to inhabit and I was in San Fran back in May. What the hell has happened?

The best way to maintain adequate protection of public health is to not allow entry of people or animals carrying foreign diseases into the country. It’s a common sense approach but who would know?

Well, did the USSR dissolve? Did Czechoslavakia and Yugoslavia? Some peaceful, some not. History is filled with separations, but you are right most were not peaceful, but it is possible.

“A gross misinterpretation of my post.”

I don’t see how. I only disagreed with the implication that Lincoln had military muscle of his own, or much military muscle. I didn’t disagree with the majority of your post.

Got to go for the rest of the day now.
