I don’t understand why it is the Pound that is falling. This vote signals the beginning of the end for the EU. I would think that the Euro would be crashing and the Pound soaring. What am I missing?

At this point, Britain is all alone in pulling out, so the markets are making a short-term bet against the Pound. Once a couple more key countries exit, the markets will correct and the Euro will be falling as it is against the dollar and yen.

Interestingly, the yen is also rising against the dollar because the markets are betting that the United States will become and even more attractive export marked versus a diminished EU leading to more dollar selling to buy yen.

Add to that the FACT that the UK never became part of the EURO currency. The pound sterling has remianed through it all.

The plutocrats are going to make this as bad as they can for as long as they can and tell the sheeple,

“Look, see what you did? It is all your fault. We can fix it for you and if you’d just have had enough sense to let things alone and leave it to us things could have been better.”

Don't look at me for financial answers. But it probably has to do with the investment sector floating way above the consumer marketplace. Investors have pulled back from UK because any change of this magnitude brings uncertainty about the unknown alterations that will be shaking up the UK's economy/financial sector/banking regulations.
