Apple, Facebook and Google ban rifle emoji from Olympics update

Apple, Google, Facebook and Microsoft have joined forces to stop a rifle emoji from being added to the catalogue of images available to their users on their smartphones.

The new emoji was due to join the keyboard line-up in an update this month. But members of the Unicode Consortium, which is responsible for regulating emoji, voted unanimously to remove it in a move the body described as "bizarre and unusual".

You forgot all those balls made out of dead animals and others made from rubber from rain forests. . . not to mention the evil competitive nature of the games themselves. Why there are actually more losers than there are winners! Think of their poor self-esteem that will be badly damaged. All those who participate should receive Gold Medals. . . and the better athletes should be required to wear handicappers to make them equal of the least of those they compete against. Only then would the Olympic games be truly a good and fair games. Oh, and no scoring. The awards should be awarded on based on need, not merit.
