Turnout isn’t as overwhelming. A couple point above the general election but...

Exit polls are generally done in normal British elections. No formal exit poll is being done in this case, because there’s no data that can be used to model the numbers based on previous elections, because there hasn’t been a previous election like this one.

Normally, you have data, so you know how particular booths lean, which ones report early, etc so even a very limited exit poll can be extrapolated quite accurately - this isn’t the case here.

I think Britain leaves tonight. Cameron is out of Downing Street by Sunday morning. New Prime Minister= Stephen Crabb.

What was the name of that song? “There’ll Always Be an England”????

...y’know, I don’t remember the tune anymore myself.

(My Great e13 grandfathers are likely all doing turns for 40kts right now...even if they were only nominally “English”.)

Cameron would be more analogous to a RINO here.

Oh its a nightmare for the tories regardless. If remain wins, the incompetent twit cameron is victorious. Boris Johnson, who represents the tory future, is probably done for.

The tories are selling their future for a mess of pottage.

I give you a toast, ladies and gentlemen.
I give you a toast, ladies and gentlemen.
May this fair dear land we love so well
In dignity and freedom dwell.
Though worlds may change and go awry
While there is still one voice to cry

There'll always be an England
While there's a country lane,
Wherever there's a cottage small
Beside a field of grain.
There'll always be an England
While there's a busy street,
Wherever there's a turning wheel,
A million marching feet.

Red, white and blue; what does it mean to you?
Surely you're proud, shout it aloud,
"Britons, awake!"
The empire too, we can depend on you.
Freedom remains. These are the chains
Nothing can break.

There'll always be an England,
And England shall be free
If England means as much to you
As England means to me.

The problem is that there are too many people in the UK to whom the last verse no longer applies - England - Britain - no longer means all that much to them.

“The tories are selling their future for a mess of pottage.”

Worse.

They are willingly joining the coalition of the Anti-Christ.

I don’t normally post such inflammatory remarks but it is amazing how blind people can be. The EU is run by non-elected elites The votes don’t matter. Europe is doomed.

Gibraltar count (not indicative in any way of the country as a whole - it’s unique extra-territorial status and land border with Spain that could be closed means it was always going to go strong to Remain).

19,322 in.
823 out.

>”Everybody should want what is best for”

Maybe I am abnormal, but I am willing to sacrifice some of mine for greater good.

Have you checked the MP math by the way? My intuition tells me Britain would have the votes and could lead the “common sense coalition”.

On Sky there were saying Scotland was heavy to remain EU. And those are the folks always trying to “break” from England. Scots are more opposed to England than Brussels apparently. Bizarre.

Too early to call...turn out is High, which means many new voters. The pollsters know nothing about these voters, who they are, where they live, or how they will vote........

Though my guess is they are Leavers and do not normally vote, because the system is so screwed.

Farage has just made it clear he is not conceding and that even if the vote is for Remain, it’s changed the landscape of Britain.
