Supreme Court Tie Deals Blow to Obama's Immigration Order
The Texas Trubine ^ | June 23, 2016 | Julián Aguilar

Dealing a major blow to President Obama’s controversial executive immigration order, the U.S. Supreme Court announced Thursday it had failed to produce a majority opinion on the policy — meaning that the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals’ November 2015 decision rejecting the policy stands.

The program had been blocked in February 2015 by a Brownsville-based federal judge, Andrew Hanen, days before it was scheduled to begin.

In a one-sentence opinion, the Supreme Court declared, "The judgment is affirmed by an equally divided Court."

The ruling was immediately hailed by conservatives across the country.

Congratulations, Judge Hansen. Texas is very proud of you for standing against the Emeror’s power grab, something all the Republican cowards in the House and Senate were afraid to do. Shame on that sniveling bunch of sell-outs.

meaning that the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals’ November 2015 decision rejecting the policy stands.

So the 5th superseded the trial court judge and made a decision on the policy, or, more accurately, the 5th affirmed the appeal's court affirmation of the trial judge's discretion in issuing a temporary restraining order forbidding the implementation of the executive action until the trial is conducted?

it didn’t deal “a major blow” to his (now officially) unconstitutional immigration order. it dealt a fatal blow to his unconstitutional immigration order.

it’s horrifying that four justices were able to pervert the constitution in order to support this act of executive tyranny.

They didn't have to identify themselves or justify their opinion. The SCOTUS case is a one liner, percuriam, divided court upholds the decision below.

Further proof that in November, we are not just choosing a president. We are choosing the composition and direction of the Supreme Court for the next 20+ years.

Amen! And so it goes, BO’B, rather than fighting the Judiciary, will continue to ignore them and do as he wishes with no slap down ....and proceeds with twice the speed.

The scary part is that the four liberal judges voted in favor of the bill which essentially would give the President the authority to write law. Just think what a Hillary presidency would do to the Supreme Court.

Not only is Texas pround of Judge Hanen, the whole country is. Maybe an eight judge SCOTUS is a good thing at least until the half-breed is gone for good!

"it dealt a fatal blow to his unconstitutional immigration order."

Or did it? Does this ruling effect only the injunction issued in the 5th district? Of course the Regime can just ignore the ruling as the only means of enforcement is the power of the purse of the US Congress. We all know how effective that tool has been in the past.

Up until now the word "Blow" had so many wonderful attributes to Obama's lexicon.

Now maybe it's a "bitter blow"?

Hard to swallow blow??

Stings a bit blow?

I wonder if Obama will trash the judges who votes against this, after we learned last week that this can not be done.
