Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is leaving the campaign, just weeks before the Republican convention where Trump is set to claim the GOP presidential nomination.

A Trump senior campaign aide confirmed to Fox News Monday morning that Lewandowski is no longer with the campaign.

It's unclear what specifically led to the shake-up. The high-profile departure of one of Trump's most senior and loyal advisers follows what was widely seen as a rough patch for the campaign.

Lol, he does look like The Don. If I could direct films I’d want him in a role like that. Melville used the non-actor Lino Ventura quite well, and Lino ended up a famous actor! He had that tough look.

Manafort has that voice and look from another era.

Yes, and I posted an article yesterday about where I saw was flaws in Trump’s campaign. I had FReepers that kept attacking me and calling me a traitor.

Mr. Trump knows exactly what he is doing. You have nothing to worry about.

So happy that Manafort has the top job. We will see much calmer waters in the future! Looking forward to Trump focusing on what matters...the people’s business.

This is the Clinton’s campaign worst nightmare. I expect the Trump campaign to scale up, with a rapid response team, coordinated talking points for surrogates, etc.

This is a fantastic development.

Lewandoski always won the in house battles because he did not care if Trump was undisciplined; being a ‘Yes” man gave Corey job security.

If Manafort can instill a little bit of self discipline in Trump’s approach, not change in positions, Trump can win this election.

Trump has only been a politician for one year and Corey had no experience with national campaigns. We need to get up to speed to face the Clinton machine.

Agreed.

The fact that Lewandowski or Manafort appear on the Sunday shows, tells you that the campaign needs a better surrogate strategy.

Trump was struggling, but I feel like you can go up from here. They will switch to a more traditional campaign mode with hiring more staff and getting ads on the air.

I do hope you are correct. The major complaint I have heard from the few never-Trumps I deal with is that so far as they are concerned he has NO position on anything but instead is all over the place. Their perception is their reality.

I, on the other hand, have trusted his written positions taken long ago on his web site writing off the rambling to showmanship necessary to entertain the sheeple.

Trump is also wasting time on some things. His commentary on the mesican judge did him no good. He was just not very wise in his approach to the problem and that hurt him a lot.

He is missing the opportunity to hammer on the economy, over regulation and freedom. Hard core demonrats I know who say they are voting FOR Trump and not against shillary say they are doing so because of security agianst muslim invaders, border security, illegal aliens, moral issues and the economy.

The clintoon machine has no shame and are not held accountable by the press at all. I’m not sure this is beatable by anyone.

Indeed, and those ads have begun to assault my television. I want Trump ads to counter this as soon as possible!

I guess we will see who is right, with absolute clarity, come November....me and mine are voting Trump, without question, but I am concerned how things are shaping up. And no, I'm not a troll.

And oh, hang in there.

“No, the past two months is what happens when you have two chefs in the kitchen.”

Yep. Trump and /or Lewandowski figured it out before it became a major problem.

Manafort (sp) now has to earn his money by getting Trump elected. Plus I don’t think Lewandowski will disappear from the stage altogether.

I agree with you. Trump wins on all positions. We saw this early on before the voting. When polling his positions, Trump’s positions win. When the pollsters put in Trump’s name in the polling question, an issue had a poorer response. Trump needs someone to get Trump to understand that he needs to become more focused on the issues. The biggest knock against him is not that he is a racist; its that Trump is seen as an orange haired buffoon. That is what really stops people from voting Trump.

Trump is not being taken seriously, although his stances on the issues are superior to Hillary.

Thanks, same to you. I try to tell people that there are so many great foreign films, but they “can’t stand subtitles”. Lol, I can’t stand dubbing.

We rag on the French here, but there are some stellar “guy films” from that era. Just watched Clouzou’s THE WAGES OF FEAR again recently. Had no idea he and Hitchcock were intense rivals at the time. Hitchcock’s LIFEBOAT was made 10 years prior and had a similarly dire setting.

You’ve found the core of the problem and Manafort is likely the solution.

I'll only be shocked if Lewandowski gets booted from the Trump organization and is not given job elsewhere.

It doesn't sound like Lewandowski is being shifted elsewhere in the campaign. He's been dropped completely.

Wages of Fear is on my list to watch, loved Sorcerer. I’m a big fan of the French New Wave, except for Goddard of course.
