GOP's Trump says US should consider profiling Muslims

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump suggested Sunday that the United States should "seriously" consider profiling Muslims inside the country as a terrorism-fighting tool, the latest example of the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting increasingly backing positions that could single out a group based on their religion.

"We really have to look at profiling," Trump said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation." ''It's not the worst thing to do."

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee added that he "hate(s) the concept of profiling, but we have to use common sense."

The statements are consistent with Trump's other, long-expressed views on how to stop terrorism in the United States, including a temporary ban on foreign Muslims from entering the country until the U.S. can figure out "what is going on."

Trump has doubled down on this approach since Omar Mateen carried out the worst mass shooting in modern American history on June 12 at a gay club in Orlando, Florida. Forty-nine people were killed in the attack, which stoked a mix of fears about terrorism, guns and violence against gays.

This is the most common sense way. If your religion is out to destroy infidels, including the Constitution of this country, perhaps you should be profiled. Being profiled is not the same as infringing on the rights. Traitors and potential traitors still get their due process. Due process happens in many ways. Profiling is due process.

Consider profiling? Consider?

Look, it’s not being done at all and we are going to see carnage... that ought to swell Trump’s count. Is that what we have to depend on?... others being killed.. so our point is made? Do we depend on attacks by the enemy to win this election? Sounds sick and sounds like this is a nation of idiots.. much like Europe has ended up as... and we don’t even learn from them..

Profiling of Christians and conservatives is already standard operating procedure for the government but profiling illegal immigrants is a tool to nail conservatives.

Yep, PROFILING would be the INTELLIGENT thing to do.

If LEFT WING NUTJOBS scream that “PROFILING IS RACIST,” Trump needs to shut them down with:

“You left wingers have been “PROFILING” White Males for the past 40 years, so you would know a little bit about “profiling,” wouldn’t you? It’s time we profile dangerous people instead.”

After all, things like “affirmative action” and “diversity” are truly forms of PROFILING. In the case of “Diversity” it is a code-word for “non-white.”

It would be prudent to imitate much of the security procedures as implemented in Israel with a heavy emphasis on profiling. Yes, they have suffered numerous incidents, but for the most part remain relatively safe considering the huge target on their backs.

“single out a group based on their religion”

Why not ? There are different groups which can be singled out on the basis of religion since there are different religions .... It seems to be rather OBVIOUS so far !

In addition iSSlam IS NOT an average “religion” among others .
It is a specific kind of “religion” which is singled out by itself !!!

GO TRUMP don’t give up

Accurate profiling is good police work. Make-believe is for K,1,2.

Didn’t we do this after 9/11????????

Isn’t this what Israel does instead of patting down a ninety-year old Quaker grandma???????

This country grows more insane daily.

Trump should have asked CBS’s panel at “Face the Nation” if they saw an 85 year old grandmother and then a 25 year old Islamic man boarding a plane, which would they consider the greatest likelihood of being a threat?

If they say anything other than the 25 year old muslim, they look stupid. They would also be profiling.

We profile people every time we see them. It’s human nature.

Like if they threaten people repeatedly, have a dad that wants to be president of the Afghanistan and loves the Taliban, they beat their wives, have a suicide bomber friend and attend a radical mosque and has been reported to the FBI three times, we should be suspicious?

What a bastard this Trump is!

It sure does, don’t the Israelis profile every passenger that boards a plane or comes into the country?
