Trump affirms backing gun ban for those on terror watch list
Washington Examiner ^ | June 18, 2016 | John Siciliano

Donald Trump reaffirmed his stance on restricting individuals on the terror watch list from being able to purchase firearms, despite Republican objections.

"We have to make sure that people that are terrorists or have even an inclination toward terrorism cannot buy weapons, guns," Trump told ABC's White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl in an interview that will air Sunday on "This Week."

It’s interesting you won’t even discuss policy anymore.it’s just about enforcing blind allegiance to the king

Under this twisted administration, you bet.

I was one of the voices in 2002 that decried the Patriot Act.

I knew it was a very dangerous piece of legislation under the wrong administration. I never dreamed that someone with such surreal and counter-reality-based views would ever ascend to the Presidency, much less the very next administration after Bush.

Bush’s strident pushing of this dangerous legislation makes him very much suspect, in hindsight. I’nm also very troubled with the fact that W simply has never spoken out, not even ONCE, against Obama and his excesses — but seems to have regained his voice when it comes to Trump.

Shows us that Republicans and Democrats are two sides of one coin: Globalist elites.

It would be nice if Trump understood the Second Amendment and the thought process of our Founding Fathers. He is not quite as wrong as Hillary, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, but Trump is still exceptionally wrong on this issue.

i have no problem keeping weapons from terrorists - but there should be due process - so the rest of us can be protected from the greedy reach of government. also it seems like the only list that this admin is capable of keeping long and complete is the VA waiting list for treatment.

Do you deny what he said?

Well, here we are, 255 replies and over 6 hours later with no reply so I guess he/she couldn't deny the plain words from Trump.

Hell no. Can we sue the government for a billion dollars if they are wrong?

There must be a very high price to pay for being wrong.

"I guess he/she couldn't deny the plain words from Trump."

You just don't understand the brilliance of Trump. He's playing 3-D chess, while Cruz and his followers are only capable of checkers. His words don't HAVE to be denied. (They'll change, anyway.)

So when Trump does that, it is 3D chess... but Cruz was a liar... got it. All hail Trump!

I only support politicians who support the constitution. None other need apply. Some on this site have pointed out the squishie trump constitutional positions before, only to be ridiculed.

“And where you when Ted Cruz used the occasion of our Constitutional right to freedom of assembly being violated by violent communists in Chicago to attack Donald Trump.

Funny, I don’t recall Ted Cruz or any Cruz supporters defending the Bill of Rights that night. Why is that?”

For the last damn time this isn’t about Cruz this is about Trump and his lack of knowledge of our Constitution and 2A and the 5th. This here is a ripe example of the ya but syndrome. I still haven’t heard from you concerning this actual position. This comment is purely diversion and obsfucation. So why not just admit it and get our candidate straight!? The logic you’ve utilized comes straight from the Alinsky hand book, change the subject, divert attention then attack based of that logic.

I know I’ll be chucking a letter to him. What say you?

>>>> Who gets to define what a terrorist is?

Boom! That’s the heart of the question, and the reason Bill of Rights is there in the first place.

How do we know some watch list is not politically motivated, IRS-Lois Lerner and nothing happened to Obama/Lerner yet.

Trump really should be careful of what he says.

I’m voting for him because that is what we were left with however you are right. The most aggregious of the attackers joined near the start of the year. Then the cadre of the long standing folks jumped on the bandwagon and got suckered in. Hence a movement started for the populist. You watch, those that fit the joiner pattern will mysteriously vanish after election time and the remainder of the site (including me because I’ll vote for the guy) will be left holding the bag. I’d also venture to say these folks are also paid exactly as the vile protestors showing up at Trump rallies. I wouldn’t be surprised if most planted this into FR and have already moved on having accomplished their goal; water down conservatism, make it confusing then parse words from what someone said and try to explain it to us in a definition they provide vs. what was actually said. This sounds like a coping mechanism to shield from the obvious they cannot escape, they were had.

I joined in 01 (AbsoluteJustice) left for some time but only observed (years) and came back, forgot login and created new.

Interviews vs. the real story - he will need to address how folks end up on the terror watch list.

This isn't the "declaration" that the headline and the hand-wringers make i tout to be.

I give the guy a pass on this. He’s more involved with NYC business, real estate, and other ventures, than firearms.

Does it not strike you as odd, though, that most FReepers appear to be more informed on the Constitution and the federal government than does a man who is running for the office of President?

It seems that Trump has done little in the way of homework to prepare himself to run the country.

There are "outsiders"...and, then, there are "outta left fielders"...

It doesn’t matter what he said, all that matters is that you supported Cruz, so your arguement, no matter how factual, is invalid.
