Actually, I did some reading up on the AK-49.

That model is going to have a time travel generator located in the forestock.

It’s only a short jump of a minute or so and backwards jumps only. It’s so if you miss a shot, you can jump back and try again, and again, and again, until you hit that shot.

Which, of course, is a massive increase in accuracy since every shot’s a hit... eventually.

In Illinois, the AR-47 comes in a hand held version.
It's available everywhere via the "Gun Show & Candy Store Loophole."

To be fair to Dicky Durbin there IS an LAR-47 that Rock River Arms sells and I think some variant hybrid called the AR-47 from Phoenix Arms which someone just adapted an AR-15 set to accept the 7.62 round.

But I have an AK-GAT9mm the will shoot 400 dumdum clips per second with high capacity glocks installed. Don’t forget the front handle. Always more deadly with the front handle.

The 223 is a legal deer round in Ga and many other states. It is as effective on smaller south eastern white tails as a 30-30.

Yes, it is. In the hands of someone that knows how to use it, .223 (in any type of gun, from the ranch rifle to a Model 700 to an AR-15 variant) is a good round. But for medium to large game, there are better choices.

Being ignorant, Durban doesn't understand that the AR-15 appeals to many for the same reason it appeals to the military:

• easy cleaning and maintenance
• reliability and durability
• wide availability of replacement parts
• wide assortment of aftermarket parts
• (relatively) expensive ammunition due to economies of scale.

"No one needs an AR-15" is like saying:

1. No one needs a full-size pickup truck.
2. No one needs a high performance sports car.
3. No one needs a motorcycle.
4. No one needs a large house.
5. No one needs a cell phone that does more than make phone calls.

Durban's (and anyone else's) rationalizations are nothing more than similar "value judgements".

A high-capacity magazine in any firearm has never made any difference in how many people a mass murderer can kill or injure, because the crimes have always been committed in an area where the victims could not easily flee and were disarmed so they couldn't fight back.

Southern Michigan is shotgun only (plus black powder) too but there were recent laws passed that allowed the shooting of handgun caliber ammunition in rifles that accommodate them. I have no idea what impact that is on our hunting population...........

With that being said, the .223 cartridge is useless when hunting deer or any larger animal and is more suitable for varmints......Everyone I know who ventures up north to hunt with rifles use higher caliber rifles...........
