This could be Great Britain’s version of the Boston Tea Party.
Afternoon tea is serious business in Great Britain and it’s one of the things that makes them British. The EU may have really gone too far.
If the British vote to leave the EU, I’ll celebrate with some afternoon Earl Gray tea and toast to commemorate. Hope other Freepers do the same.

To form an economic union is one thing but to create an unelected uber-government to rule over your sovereign nation without the consent of the governed, that was a really bad idea.

If their tea pots are similar to the one I used in Australia, they must be eco-friendly. The heating element was immersed in the water, and with the 230 volt supply, the water was boiling hot in seconds.

I don't get why they would even try to get rid of the electric kettle.
It is much more eco-friendly then boiling water on the cooker.

What kind of an idiot populace would start a war of independence over tea?
Oh.
Oh, yeah. Never mind.

I love the way the Brits come up with names.

Based on my stay in the UK, apparently tea kettles and TVs that are used in hotel rooms in the UK have to be inspected yearly.

Britain is a bit on the chilly side.
Cups of hot tea allow whole house heating to be reduced greatly.

Maybe I’m a little behind the times. A gas flame under a teapot seems to work fine.

Maybe Britain should get with it and, instead of using 320 volt electrical systems, they should go with our 120 volt system. They would use less electricity and that would help with the Global Warming problem. /sarc.
. . . I’m just trying to think like those EU spoiled brat nitwits.
