Cruz still 'assessing' whether to support Trump
The Hill ^ | June 7, 2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 06/07/2016 2:27:58 PM PDT by jazusamo

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Tuesday he is still considering whether to support his former rival Donald Trump for president.

"Like many other voters, I'm watching and listening and assessing what he says and what he does and I think that's what millions of voters are doing and that's the way the Democratic process is meant to operate," Cruz said, according to MSNBC.

"I think voters are going to do that from now right until Election Day, and I'm giving it time and watching and assessing."

Cruz, who dropped his presidential bid last month, feuded with the presumptive GOP nominee several times during his campaign. Before dropping out of the race, Cruz called Trump an "utterly amoral" pathological liar, narcissist and bully.

Last month, the Texas senator told reporters he had plenty of time to make a decision on whether or not to back Trump.

Cruz told MSNBC that he is focused on "defending conservative principles," noting he thinks the party's platform should reflect those principles.

"I am fighting for those principles now in the United States Senate. I had hoped to fight for them and implement those principles from the White House," he said.

"It turned out that was not the way the election went and so I'm back here in the Senate working hard to fight for those very same principles."

He said the American people are looking for a leader who will "get Washington off of our backs, that will bring back jobs and economic growth, that will defend the Constitution and that will keep this country safe."

"And I hope that's what we end up with," Cruz said.

Trump has come under fire over comments he made questioning whether an Indiana-born federal judge might be biased against him because of his Mexican heritage. Republican leaders have condemned Trump's remarks.

“Really? Does Cruz think anyone actually cares?”

Yeah. We’re at that point. Except for a few Cruzlim mothership holdouts, “Ted” (not his real name) is as relevant as yesterdays fast food.

You brought this on yourself, Teddy:

To the tune of; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rwcNv3dhTM

Ted Cruz is so in love with Heidi
At least all his people tell him so
And while he thinks that she’s a very special lady
It’s probably not the way he’d choose to go
But a lifetime of longing looks would cause too much distraction
And Marco’s just not gay any more.

Ted Cruz is Ted Cruz crazy
Just be glad it’s him not you
If you had Ted Cruz’s troubles
You might be Ted Cruz crazy too
You’d flash your big white shiny smile
You’d buy ill-fitting suits.
But you’d be the only man on Earth
Who’d choose to vote for Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz is always getting older
He knows he’ll never be a hot young man
And when Ted Cruz looks back over his shoulder
He’s lost to Donald Trump big yet again.
He knows someday he’ll just be seen as
Some old white politician
While someone younger whups him in the polls.

Ted Cruz is Ted Cruz crazy
Just be glad it’s him not you
If you had Ted Cruz’s troubles
You might be Ted Cruz crazy too
You’d flash your big white shiny smile
You’d buy ill-fitting suits.
But you’d be the only man on Earth
Who’d choose to vote for Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz hopes somewhere there’s a place for him
‘Cause no one thinks he’s American any more...

Somewhere in some secluded office
Poor Ted Cruz sits staring at the wall
And the outside world is always such a hassle
Sometimes he won’t go out at all
There are millions who know his name
He thinks everybody loves him
Why is it that he feels so alone?

Ted Cruz is Ted Cruz crazy
Just be glad it’s him not you
If you had Ted Cruz’s troubles
You might be Ted Cruz crazy too
You’d flash your big white shiny smile
You’d buy ill-fitting suits.
But you’d be the only man on Earth
Who’d choose to vote for Ted Cruz.

“Just heard Michael Medved predicting that Trump will withdraw...”

Well, when I use to listen to Limbaugh, he predicted that people would still be thinking Trump would get out even as late as October.

I find it amusing to listen to the Trump supporters whining once again about people not falling in line behind Trump. This after Trump hinted several times that he might drop out and go third-party and not support the Republican candidate. And this after Trump supporters threatened to never vote for anyone but Trump. The hypocrisy is overwhelming

Add a sombrero to that photo, mk.

Cruz is all-in for open borders, citizenship and North American Union, or Hidey Heidi would never have been caught anywhere near the Council on Foreign Relations N.A. “community” paper.

This poseur had to smarmy the religious right to get to the senate. He thought he could do the same to get to the presidency. Who else would fall for it? Cruz wants the South to go blue, so he can be elected by a “fundamentally transformed” population of foreign refugees and South American socialists.

TexasNeverCruz!

Cruz should remain silent until he’s able to speak intelligently.

Then, thank the Lord, we will never hear him speak again!

Why don’t they just come out and endorse Hillary? That is what they want.

Because they know if they do it will be the end of their careers as professional "conservatives". So they clutch at any straw to cover their support for Crooked Hillary.

The deal was that he had to be treated fairly. At one point in the primary one could argue that he was not being treated fairly. When you have Romney climb out from under the porch to go on a tirade on Trump, but says little about Clinton or anyone else really, that is quite telling. Romney was not even honest with what he said. However, we can also point to the Colorado non-vote. I would not call that a fair straight forward way to elect people.
