It applies exactly as I described in my first post: it is illegal to buy a long gun from a private seller in a state in which you do not reside and bring it back, or have it shipped back, to your home. If they left the guns in AZ, they may not have broken Fed law. If the seller knew they were not AZ residents, he did break Fed law.

Please explain how that would be relevant in the course of a private buyer and seller from AZ to CO. I don’t see where any of it apply’s unless state law doesn’t allow. and from what I’ve looked at this was a legal purchase. Let me also add that it should be, without interference from either the state of federal governments.

I have bought long guns from many states and had them delivered to my office with no background check. Show me where the Federal law applies to private sales.

18 USC 922(a)(3) prohibits anyone who is not a dealer from going to a state in which he does not reside, buying a gun, and transporting or having it shipped back to his state of residence. That is what I presume the filmmakers did. If you’re not willng to read the law yourself, I am not sure how my explaining it will convince you.

I know the law well on long guns and it does not apply in the case of a private sale other than the shipper must be notified they are shipping a long gun. State laws may require additional paperwork.

>If there is no legal action,the BATF is neutered

No, not neutered, but a tool against the People (see IRS, DOJ, EPA, NSA, TSA).

It’s the culmination of losing the last of our Constitution ~50yrs ago (LBJ); which was 75% dead with Wilson/FDR 100+yrs ago.

18 U.S. Code § 922 - Unlawful acts

(a) It shall be unlawful—

(3) for any person, other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to transport into or receive in the State where he resides (or if the person is a corporation or other business entity, the State where it maintains a place of business) any firearm purchased or otherwise obtained by such person outside that State, except that this paragraph (A) shall not preclude any person who lawfully acquires a firearm by bequest or intestate succession in a State other than his State of residence from transporting the firearm into or receiving it in that State, if it is lawful for such person to purchase or possess such firearm in that State, (B) shall not apply to the transportation or receipt of a firearm obtained in conformity with subsection (b)(3) of this section, and (C) shall not apply to the transportation of any firearm acquired in any State prior to the effective date of this chapter;

"Subsection (b)(3)" allows an exemption to this prohibition, which is the purchase of a long gun, made in person, from a licensee (FFL).

“Wrong, you can only purchase a long gun in another state from a licensee, AT his licensed premises.”

...one of Couric’s producers deliberately committed at least four separate felonies by purchasing four separate firearms across state lines without a background check.

That's not a felony, that's exercising a Constitutional right. Any law that says different is invalid.

The laws are so convoluted that you can’t be sure you’re not violating something. And you can be good to go in your home state but commit felonies by simply crossing a state line. Free men shouldn’t have to be burdened in that way.

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.” ― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
