A universal cancer vaccine is on the horizon after scientists discovered how to rewire immune cells to fight any type of disease.
The potential new therapy involves injecting tiny particles of genetic code into the body which travel to the immune cells and teach them to recognise specific cancers.

Nice, hope it works out.
I would volunteer for a shot of that.
Sure. I WANT TO SEE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF IT FIRST.
I would not doubt someone doing a bait and switch because none of the cancer groups want a cure as it will put them out of business.
Besides cancers are complex and varying and it may not be universal against every form of cancer. Or consider if tumors are into vital structures and arteries and the tumor gets attacked too quickly and it causes a bone break,or an artery to rupture.
Real world is complicated.
Hell, I’m at 145, and my wife keeps reminding me that I’m an idiot.
Or islam.
This is not a wonder drug. Only 30% of people get significant benefit, and only 5% get a response like Carters.
I mean its great if you are in one of the narrow groups but 70%, 7 out of 10, people, are not.
It's great compared to the treatment for metastatic melanoma before these new targeted therapy drugs. Your choice was die in a few months or take extremely debilitating chemotherapy and die in a few months + 1. Oh and that few months plus one was like 10% of the people that took the chemo route.
Good News: The vaccine will prevent Cancer.
Bad News: You’ll be Autistic.
Choices, choices.
“Jimmy Carter somehow got some of this type of drug.”
A cure for me but not for thee.
Just like Hillary’s indictment is on the horizon.
By accepting and communicating to others that the crumpled mess in the wheelchair is the world’s smartest lifeform, it’s supppsed to signify that you too are very smart, open-minded and compassionate.
Didn’t it come back?
According to Freeper mountn man:
Hawking has an IQ of 160, really not that remarkable.
Considering James Wood, the ACTOR has 180
Did not verify either statement, but I suppose you can have a high IQ, but that does not mean you have any wisdom or common sense. Seems to be the case with Hawking.
Only 160? I’m surprised...and he is revered for his brain.
Wonder why someone with a 180 IQ would be an actor. I follow him on Twitter - he’s quite conservative.
I don't know, but here is from a Motly Fool article on Bio Tech investing:

"Merck has an exciting cancer pipeline With the hiring of Amgen's former R&D head, Roger Perlmutter, a few years back, Merck began shaking off its stodgy old pharma image. The plan's working. Merck's exciting new cancer therapy, Keytruda, makes it difficult for tumors to hide from the immune system, and helped send former President Carter's case of melanoma -- which had spread to his brain and liver -- into remission. The drug is in over 270 clinical trials across more than 30 tumor types. More than 100 of these trials are in combination with other therapies. Through collaborations and outright acquisitions, Merck aims to become an immuno-oncology giant, and "stodgy" hardly describes this company any longer."
