Usually when reporters ask about the gorilla in the room, it's not an actual gorilla.
Not so Tuesday, when between reporter queries about his potential running mate and his policies on veterans' health care, Donald Trump fielded a question from Yahoo News reporter Hunter Walker asking the presumptive Republican nominee on his thoughts regarding the Cincinnati Zoo's decision to shoot and kill a rare gorilla after a 4-year-old boy fell into his enclosure.
...
But on Twitter, where media wars are often begun and settled, Walker's fellow scribes saw fit to pillory him for the question.

Pathetic Hillary. She’s going to lose big and hopefully go to jail.
That is messed up!
Petition to hold the kids parents responsible:.....Can’t happen. They are black. Responsibility is never discussed. HOWEVER, A payday is in the offing.
Same question aimed at Hillary...
So, Mrs. Clinton about the gorilla that was shot at the zoo. “Do you think that poor animal should have been killed by an evil gun? And why do these zoos have guns anyway?”
“The proper response is to ignore the question”.
No, its proper to speak up when we have a childish populace that cries over an Ape.
An idiotic question from an idiot.
I thought his answer was good , also . But I wish he would have said “ I don’t plan on being the Mayor of America like Obama . What happened in Cincinnati is none of my business . Next question “ .
Since 6/15/2015, Trump has been attacked 24/7, with malicious slander, reckless comments, accusatory question, and on and on. Every single day for nearly a year.
No candidate in modern American history has ever faced such an onslaught of slander and attacks from the media and the D.C. disciples of deceit.
I hesitate to allow my mind to contemplate the train of thought that would take one from “a gorilla got shot” to “incident of racism.”
Gorilla’s lives matter.
It was initially being framed as a racial issue, till they realized the kid was black.
Rush talked about it today too.
And sometimes a gorilla is an ape. Oh wait...make that ALL the time.
They did that. Some of the other gorillas went to get their lunch. The old guy didn’t
That gets my vote. I have absolutely zero desire to go to some city and pay them to see wild animals who are sitting in cages all their lives as the humans laugh and point fingers at them.
I’ve kinda fell off listening to him lately - spends a lot of time chatting about either golf and before that his cat or some other stuff; but I do get his newsletter so I know what he’s on about.
Oh and that racial issue: yeah, heard/read about the so-called racial issue that for some reason went away when those liberal idiots found out the child was black as well as the parents who being the parents of the year had long criminal records. Interesting how libtards jump into a story before knowing all the facts; but to them, who needs facts. It’s the initial report that’s important.
I liked Trump's answer.
But if it was me answering the question (with the advantage of hindsight)and not being blindsided by the dimwit reporter, I would have responded :
"I know absolutely nothing about gorilla behavior and if it were my child who fell into that enclosure, I would trust the zoo professionals, who DO know gorilla behavior, to take whatever actions they deemed necessary to save my child".........
With that being said, I don't condemn the parents either based on the stories my dad told me about my antics as a three and four year old when he was an officer in the Army stationed in Germany back around 1952 and my mom and I were over there with him.
I was once apprehended a half block away toddling down the sidewalk after climbing the front yard fence and making my escape............By today's standards, my parents would have been arrested.
As for the zoo itself, its endangered species center has been in existence for 20 years with millions of people viewing its exhibits and this is the first incident of its kind
You can take all the precautions you want but eventually something both unpredictable and unforeseeable will occur that will result in an accident and then the public will rise up in ignorant outrage.

a crime.” - lewislynn wrote.
I agree. Here in TN we have a zoo that provides an outdoors
habitat for its animals with lots of space. However, years
ago, when my parents used to take me to the Memphis Zoo;
the big cats were doing an in-tandem, almost choreographed
running & rolling exercise in their cages. I thought they
were former circus animals the way they were acting; but
was later told that they were not formerly circus, just
so frustrated in the small concrete enclosure they lived in.

Black people know,
white babies should be killed by the gorillas;
black babies should not.
Liberal logic.
Black lives Matter.
It seemed to me that the professional blacks were/are identifying with the Gorilla. They have fought so long and vehemently against any remark that might suggest a kinship between black people and simians or pongids and they are now claiming that relationship!
