Television Networks Struggle to Provide Equal Airtime (Hillary Beaten By Empty Trump Podium)

Networks are seeking novel ways to maintain balance, like staging voter town halls that provide candidates with equal airtime; seeking a wider spectrum of on-air contributors and campaign surrogates; and bringing more fact-checking into segments, as Jake Tapper has done recently on CNN to some acclaim.

Still, the presence of Mr. Trump can be irresistible, especially in an election in which viewership and advertising rates have soared, generating tens of millions of dollars in additional revenue for an industry threatened by digital competition.

Last week, none of the three major cable news networks — CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC — carried Mrs. Clinton’s speech to a workers’ union in Las Vegas, where she debuted sharp new attack lines against Mr. Trump.

Instead, each chose to broadcast a live feed of an empty podium in North Dakota, on a stage where Mr. Trump was about to speak.

DOn’t worry, after watching the weekly morning shows like CBS with Charlie Roes, Norduh O’Donnell and Oprah’s friend, they more than make up for any lack of coverage for their friend Hillary by skewing the news in her favor.

A Trump presidency will bring years of sky high ratings for TV networks.

They will all turn against Hillary sooner or later. Some of them already have.

So what’s the problem here? Just show an empty Trump podium and an empty Hillary podium and see which gets greater ratings!

TRUMP could finance his campaign if he sold his merchandise on QVC.

Hillary would have to PAY people to buy her stuff.

They can provide all the “equal time” they want it won’t stop Trump from dominating the election.

He has presence, Hillary doesn’t. She’s an unlikable bitter woman with a shrill voice and no charisma. She can’t be authentic because her authentic self is an unlikable person... Trump has presence, and is perceived as being himself.... Equal airtime won’t change this.

To paraphrase Obama re Sarah Palin... when it comes to Hillary, you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.

It is a double-edged sword.

The more coverage Clinton gets, the lower her numbers go.

That is why the Dem debates were scheduled on Saturday nights — so most people would ignore them.

That is why Clinton seldom holds townhalls or large venue speeches — choosing instead small venues with a few dozen to a couple hundred of ardent supporters.

Then, there is the health issue. Does Clinton have the stamina? Trump has been holding nearly daily massive rallies. Clinton holds maybe one or two events and disappears for a week. Can she keep up with Trump after the conventions?

Thirty people show up for Hillary’s ‘events’ and half of them are butt-kissing reporters... Yeah, a million people want to watch that...

And Jake Tapper ??? Has he EVER looked at his own show and counted the ‘air time’ minutes given to Republicans vs Democrats on his own show?’

NEVER

Funniest is Wolf doing “Primary Coverage’... with two tables ... both filled with Democrats, or one maybe two Republicans ... both who hate Trump.

CNN: look inward...

They ONLY time these suckk up journalists are concerned about ‘fair’ is WHEN it benefits their guy (Hillary)

“She’s an unlikable bitter woman with a shrill voice and no charisma. She can’t be authentic because her authentic self is an unlikable person”

Equal time would be a total disaster for Crooked Hillary: the more people see and hear her, the more they dislike her. Crooked Hillary could easily get more air time if she really wanted it: all she just has to do is call in and offer to be interviewed; of course, REAL interviews with REAL questions would be disastrous for Crooked Hillary, and it no longer appears that she has even a single sycophantic interviewer remaining, even on the alphabet networks, so really, all that Crooked Hillary can do at this point is remain hunkered down inside of her campaign bunker buried underneath her campaign headquarters in Brooklyn.
