WSJ's Bret Stephens: Trump Must Lose So Badly That the GOP Voters 'Learn Their Lesson'
Mediaite ^ | May 29, 2016 | sam Reisman

Speaking to CNN's Fareed Zakaria Sunday afternoon, Wall Street Journal's Bret Stephens said that it was important for Donald Trump to lose the general election so utterly that the Republican party and its voters "learn their lesson" and never nominate someone like him ever again.

Stephens has been one of Trump's most outspoken conservative critics, writing in March, for instance, that Trump is essentially an amplified version of Barack Obama. Both men were "epic narcissists who see themselves as singularly suited to redeem an America that is not only imperfect but fundamentally broken," he wrote.

"The candidacy of Donald Trump is the open sewer of American conservatism," he wrote on another occasion.

"I most certainly will not vote for Donald Trump," Stephens told Zakaria, adding that he wanted to "make sure he is the biggest loser in presidential history" in a very long time.

Stephens continued: "It's important that Donald Trump and what he represents — this kind of ethnic quote 'conservatism' or populism — be so decisively rebuked that the Republican party, the Republican voters learn their lesson that they cannot nominate a man so manifestly unqualified to be president in any way, shape, or form."

I truly hope Stevens gets to eat his words.

They do not understand Conservatism does not work for conservatives. The reason is that it has become completely preempted by corporatism. No., they are the ones who need to learn the lessons.

Why does it seem that the ones who pushed Ted Cruz and wanted others to like Cruz find and post this anti Trump BS?

I don’t think you can stress that point enough. You are 100% correct.

Scum such as Stephens could make their living off seven year olds working in a slave labor camp and call it ‘Free Market Capitalism’. They think of workers as chattel, that should be happy just to gobble the crumbs that fall from his plate.

He’s just disgruntled because the tax peons are revolting against the Fat Cats that bribe both parties with campaign donations, the cash coming out of the hides of the Middle Class. Those of his ilk will be living in a different world when the Little People refuse to continue to support the life style to which the Elites have become accustomed.

Poor Bret. His handlers must be unhappy with him for him to become so strident.

Either that or losing his future position as POTUS Press Secretary is eating at his craw.

Trump has a way of growing on you. I voted for Cruz in the primary (never again) and kept listening and thinking. I always like what Trump said but didn’t like the way he said it. I couldn’t see that kind of talk in the WH. But then I began to realize he couldn’t have accomplished all he has without good leadership skills, #1. And #2, Washington must be cleaned up and the best hope for the world is going down the tubes. Washington must change and it will take a non-traditional leader like Trump to get the job done. A radical change is needed and Trump is the only hope we have.

This is an interesting time in American history. It is also a critical time. The American voters will make a decision in November as to whether or not they want this country will abandon the notion of nationalism. And, unlike those elections of the past, it is a stark choice. And make no mistake, this is what this election will determine.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump may be the principle candidates in this election, but it’s really not about them; it’s about the movements that they lead. They are representative voices for forces that are militating in opposite directions. The Clinton side is promoting the globalization of the world. If we elect her we will be seriously move down that path, and there is absolutely no turning back. It will be the beginning of the end of America, capitalism, our Constitutional freedoms (those that are actually still left), and many other rights that we take for granted in this country. We will be a “world community” governed by forces that are beyond our control. It will be a world of Socialism and humanism. God will be deposed and anyone who might follow Him will be ostracized from the community or worse.

Trump represents the other side. He is the voice for the Americans who want to resist this globalization and to return America to a sovereign nation that is feared and repeated by the rest of this world. That is a politically incorrect thought today as there has been an ongoing effort to pussify American men and masculinize American women, but it is the truth. That effort is well on its way to achieving its goal.

Wait is all but the foolish and uninformed that are unable to see this effort as being diabolically. The media, the educational system and Hollywood are the tools that tare being used to convince Americans that traditional beliefs and practices of the past are old-fashioned and unnecessary.

This is the “final battle”. Americans, in short, are choosing who they wish to lead this country and this world: God or Satan. It’s no more complicated than that.

WSJ's Bret Stephens: Trump Must Lose So Badly That the GOP Voters 'Learn Their Lesson'

Trump must win overwhelmingly so that Bret Stevens wife will divorce him, his children change their name, and he is exiled from America to where he can learn his lesson.

Re: “The most important thing to the establishment is keeping the Cheap Labor Express running.”

The Establishment has already won.

Trump and Clinton both support massive LEGAL immigration, currently running about 1.25 million per year.

And that’s just half the story.

A huge majority of Democrat voters, and a solid majority of Republican voters, also support massive LEGAL immigration.

Most LEGAL immigrants have limited skills and limited education, and 80% of new immigrant citizens vote for the Democrat Party.

But for some reason I will never understand, a majority of grassroots Republican voters are still shouting, “More, More, More!”
