It’s Politico, and reading the article I had to laugh at the multiple smears of the bikers, and Trump intended to cast a negative light on the occasion.
Knowing it was Politico when I began to read the article I wasn’t confused by the digs of the leftist writers.

We’re coming back from a short vacation on the Maine coast... I admit I didn’t even know about this rally. Just heard the same thing from “The Political Insiders” on Fox News a few minutes ago (on Sirius XM). I think it was Republican John LeBoutlier who said Trump should have acknowledged the veterans. “All he had to do was add three sentences.”

Memorial Day is to honor those who died during war. It’s not about veterans per se. So, these rinos and libs, same thing, want to condemn Trump for not mentioning vets enough times need to try to learn what Memorial Day means. Remember when Obama was condemned for saying he “saw” many of them in the audience?
