Full title: Judicial Watch: Justice Department Documents Reveal Widespread Use of Fast and Furious Weapons by Major Mexican Drug Cartels Linked to at least 69 Killings
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today released Justice Department documents showing that weapons sent from the U.S. into Mexico as part of the Obama administrations Operation Fast and Furious gunrunning program have been widely used by major Mexican drug cartels. According to the new records, over the past three years, a total of 94 Fast and Furious firearms have been recovered in Mexico City and 12 Mexican states, with the majority being seized in Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa. Of the weapons recovered, 82 were rifles and 12 were pistols identified as having been part of the Fast and Furious program. Reports suggest the Fast and Furious guns are tied to at least 69 killings.
Fast and Furious was a Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) gunrunning operation in which the Obama administration allowed guns to be sold to Mexican drug cartels in the hope the weapons would be recovered at crime scenes. Fast and Furious weapons have been implicated in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and hundreds of other innocents in Mexico. Prior reports tie Fast and Furious weapons to at least 200 deaths in Mexico alone.
Judicial Watch obtained the documents last month in response to a March 17, 2016, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives seeking the following:
The documents show 94 Fast and Furious firearms were seized, 20 were identified as being involved in violent recoveries. The violent recoveries involved several mass killings:
In October 2014, Judicial Watch uncovered the fact that an AK 47 rifle used in a July 29, 2013, gang-style assault on an apartment building that left two people wounded was part of the Obama Department of Justices Fast and Furious gunrunning program.
These documents show President Obamas legacy includes one of gunrunning and violence in Fast and Furious, said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. As the production of documents from the ATF continues, we expect to see even further confirmation of Obamas disgraced former Attorney General Eric Holders prediction that Fast and Furious guns will be used in crimes for years to come.
In 2014, Judicial Watch litigation forced the disclosure of Fast and Furious documents to Congress after years of delay.
Judicial Watch has a related active lawsuit seeking access to all records of communications between the Department of Justice and the House Oversight Committee relating to settlement discussions in the Committees 2012 contempt of Congress lawsuit against then-Attorney General Eric Holder ( Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice (No. 1:13-cv-1344)). The contempt citation stemmed from Holders refusal to provide documents to Congress related to the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal.
Obama, Holder and Clinton were in border towns pushing for gun control.
They should all be held accountable.
Operation Fast & Furious had as its central purpose the subversion of the US Constitution. The program's strategy was to gin up a furor over guns sourced in the US being used in Mexican crime so that the US public could be stampeded into restricting the 2nd Amendment. Since few such guns were being used in Mexico more had to be supplied. They also had to show up at crime scenes so that they could be traced back to the US to 'prove' the Obama administration's assertions.
The GOP should be harping on one message every time F&F is mentioned. To wit:
F&F was a program cynically designed to result in Mexican deaths - so that 'evil' US-sourced guns could be found at the crime scenes and US gun laws could be blamed for the carnage. Holder, Napolitano, Hillary and Obama and a host of their minions cooked up this program knowing that Mexicans would die - in fact, needing Mexicans to die for this scheme to work. The Obama administration was cynically willing to slaughter Hispanics to accomplish their political purposes. The only "botch" in the scheme was F&F guns turning up to get Americans killed too.
So does John McLettuce McCain and 1/2 of congress, worthless pos’s all
Impeachment is of the table. /boner /ryan / mcconnell
Bump!
Was Hilda SoS when this went down?
Oh ya, they should be held accountable big time. The idea behind F&F was to create the justification for more ‘gun control’ legislation. The Soetoro administration fed their propaganda to the (willing) press beforehand and then federal LE would conveniently provide the proof ala F&F. They didnt count on a whistle blower to spoil the festivities. Now exposed no one in Congress has the fortitude to make sure the guilty are help accountable. Meanwhile the people on the border pay the price as do the tax payers here. This MUST be an election year issue.
Horrible.
“More than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States.”

Judicial Watch continuing to do the job that Issa and Gowdy are too wussy to do
Yes
CNBC reran an excellent 1 hr story about this on sunday evening.
Aye. And things like that make me wonder about the Issa and Gowdy fans -- I mean the level of impotence we get from these guys is impossible to have w/o being deliberate, right? (I rather think that even an incompetent, energetically going after things like Fast and Furious, the NSA's domestic espionage, etc would at least draw attention to the matter.)
Mexico's Gun Supply and the 90 Percent MythAs we discussed in a previous analysis, the 90 percent number was derived from a June 2009 U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) report to Congress on U.S. efforts to combat arms trafficking to Mexico (see external link).
According to the GAO report, some 30,000 firearms were seized from criminals by Mexican authorities in 2008. Of these 30,000 firearms, information pertaining to 7,200 of them (24 percent) was submitted to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for tracing. Of these 7,200 guns, only about 4,000 could be traced by the ATF, and of these 4,000, some 3,480 (87 percent) were shown to have come from the United States.
This means that the 87 percent figure relates to the number of weapons submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF that could be successfully traced are not from the total number of weapons seized by Mexican authorities or even from the total number of weapons submitted to the ATF for tracing. In fact, the 3,480 guns positively traced to the United States equals less than 12 percent of the total arms seized in Mexico in 2008 and less than 48 percent of all those submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF for tracing. This means that almost 90 percent of the guns seized in Mexico in 2008 were not traced back to the United States.
Very interesting. I’d hazard a guess that just about every new gun manufactured or imported into the US has its serial number recorded somewhere. So Barry has just about reversed the actual percentage.
When 0bungo lies, and he always lies, he lies big.
A .50.
A .50!
My government does not let me buy a .50, but it enables evil, alien criminals to do so.
Holder (and Obama) should hang for his crimes. Hell with the slammer.
