True to its name, TBS’s comedy The Detour, detoured from an otherwise hilarious episode and instead derailed completely, in a ridiculous attempt to smear gun owners, the 2nd Amendment, and the U.S. Constitution.

While at a theme park in Salvation, Florida, which celebrates Christmas 364 days a year (they’re closed on Christmas), husband and wife team Nate and Robin (Jason Jones and Natalie Zea) alienate a Christmas reveler by acting in a decidedly non-Holiday kind of spirit.

But before the well-intentioned guy can get away, Robin notices something under his shirt:

They can try to make gun ownership look deviant but all it does is make them hypocrites. Hollywood makes too much of their money from violence.

Natalie Zea’s previous show Justified included over 170 ‘deaths’ in 6 seasons.

Hollywood’s top grossing movies 2015:

The Force Awakens (blasters - guns in space)
Jurassic world (guns vs dinosaurs)
Age of Ultron (guns vs robots)
Inside Out (no guns)
Furious 7 (guns while racing cars)
Minions (freeze ray and Lava Gun)
Mockingjay (bows and guns)
The Martian (no guns)
Cinderella (no guns)
Specter (lots of guns)

*I haven’t seen the movies listed below Minions so feel free to correct.

Worse in the 1970s when almost every cop show had anti gun scripts.

I was a big fan of the original Hawaii Five-O, but did get disgusted when McGarrett would go off on his anti-gun rants.

Funny how it all went away once Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson started racking-up big box office totals with lots of gunplay.

The modern era of gun control began with the JFK assassination and Lyndon Johnson denouncing “mail order murder”, got into high gear with the MLK & RFK assassinations, and took off after Kent State and the Black Panther shootouts.

Mortally wounded by Ronald Reagan, the gun control movement would lose its ability to marginalize gun owners as antisocial & dangerous, and now is correctly perceived as a form of fascism.

“Cars result in the same number of deaths per year as do guns. I’m assuming malpractice of various kinds also results in a huge number of deaths...perhaps more than guns.”

It’s a chilling reality – one often overlooked in annual mortality statistics: Preventable medical errors persist as the No. 3 killer in the U.S. – third only to heart disease and cancer – claiming the lives of some 400,000 people each year.

According to the CDC, there were 33,636 deaths due to firearms in 2013.

Can the answer be more clear? BAN DOCTORS, NOT GUNS!

It only makes sense. Far more deadly than guns.

My local Asian grocery store has Korean dramas playing on a TV where the cashier can see it. VHS tapes, BTW.

Excellent casting, well written, and with a moral message, is what I have heard about them. But they’re in Korean & that’s the hard part. Guess they come subtitled now.

Yep - the worst was probably the sniper episode, where the crazy guy holed up in an old WWII bunker and started shooting at cars and pedestrians. That episode was brimming full of half-baked psychoanalysis.

Stopped watching this show after about 3 episodes. Just not funny, IMHO.
