Is Trayvon Martin the Only Black Life that Matters?

We all know why leftists aren’t rushing to live in inner city black neighborhoods.

Apparently, Trayvon Martin is the only black life that really matters to many blacks and liberals. Blacks are getting gunned down by other blacks every day in cities across the country and there’s no outrage from liberals. These kids are nameless and faceless to liberals’ Black Lives Matter Movement. But when George Zimmerman decided to auction off the gun he used to shoot Martin in self-defense, people lost their minds.

I think it’s in poor taste for Zimmerman to do this, and even more disturbing and sick that anyone would want to buy this gun. Obviously, Zimmerman is starved for cash and this is a desperate move. Well, this prompted liberal lawyers and pundits to rehash the case, asking when will Zimmerman be held accountable for his crime. He was held accountable. Bowing to political pressure from President Barack Obama, Al Sharpton and his black mob, Florida’s state attorney charged Zimmerman with second-degree murder. A trial was conducted and Zimmerman was found not guilty by a group of his peers.

Tragically, Martin contributed to his own death by the bad decisions he made that night. Martin has become a martyr for the lie that white Hispanic men and white police officers are killing young black men in cold blood when the opposite is true.

“Far more people of color are being killed in America’s cities tis year than in many years,” FBI Director James Comey observed in a 2015 speech to the University of Chicago Law School.

“And let’s be clear: far more people of color are being killed in America’s cities this year. And it’s not the cops doing the killing.”

No, it’s not cops hunting for blacks. And like last year, homicide rates have jumped dramatically in more than 24 cities, including Chicago. Comey said he’s more worried about it than he was last year and is attributing some of the rise in homicides to viral videos taunting police officers and preventing them from doing their jobs.

In the predominately black city of Chicago, homicides have increased over 56% since last year. It’s a blood bath of killings daily – where most of the victims and victimizers are black.

Over Mother’s Day weekend, over 50 people were shot. During that four day shooting rampage, eight of those people were killed in what was described by the Chicago Tribune as “the city's most violent weekend since the end of September.”

“Chicago is already closing in on 200 homicides, as the city endures its worst violence since the late 1990s. At this rate, the city is on pace to top 500 homicides for the year for only the second time since 2008,” noted the Chicago Tribune.

The shootings are concentrated in the mostly black neighborhoods of the South and West sides of the city. Chicago’s Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, who is black, said that those criminals are repeat offenders who are being released from prison after serving only half their sentences.

Where are the marches and protests for these black lives? Oh, that’s right, their deaths can’t be blamed on either a racist white police chief (because Chicago’s top cop is black), or racist white cops. No these black lives were overwhelmingly killed by other black lives, so I guess they don’t matter like Trayvon’s.

It’s time to cut the crap. We all know why liberals like Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel aren’t rushing to live in inner city black neighborhoods. There’s too much damn black killing. When will liberals stop making excuses for the problem and deal honestly with the problem?

I phoned the Chicago mayor’s office to ask why Rahm hadn’t asked to have the governor deploy the National Guard on the city’s streets, which is so obviously, desperately needed, what with an average of over 61 people shot EVERY WEEK(that’s shootings, not all resulting in death, eh).

The person who answered the phone sounded like a young black woman, and not too bright. When I told her I wanted to talk to someone who could answer that question, she paused and mumbled, then said she’d have to refer me to the police department. I said no, that the police have no authority/ability to have the National Guard deployed in the city, but that the mayor does by requesting it from the governor — and that was why I was calling the mayor’s office to ask why it hadn’t been done.

She sighed and told me to hold on while she transferred me to someone else, and I waited while the line rang and rang and rang and rang and rang with no answer, then I gave up and clicked off.
