Possible Conflict at Heart of Clinton Foundation
NY Times ^ | May 22, 2016 | ALBERT R. HUNT

The Clinton Foundation, which has done a number of good works over the past 15 years, would appear to present an inherent conflict of interest should Mrs. Clinton become president, and possibly does even now with her as a candidate.

Mrs. Clinton has suggested that if she is elected, the foundation — which collects contributions from wealthy interests, including foreign governments — would continue basically as is.

“If Bill seeks to raise large sums of money from donors who also have an interest in U.S. policy, the public will rightly question whether the grants affected United States foreign policy,” said Stephen Gillers, a legal ethics expert at New York University School of Law. Ethics rules, he notes, are “not merely to prevent bad behavior but to foster public trust in the integrity of government choices.” He’s open, however, to the idea of their daughter, Chelsea Clinton, running the foundation.

The NYT will try and put a good spin on any illegal Clinton activity. It’s sickening.

No, I don’t think they will get away with it.

The New York Times, as keeper of The Narrative, occasionally has to tell its devoted readers that, contrary to what was true yesterday, Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

Their MO is to break the news gently. Most of their blind followers, believe it or not, have been unaware of the Foundation and the possibility that the FBI may have some interest in its goings-on. Like their recent spate of Biden stories, they are preparing the crowd for bad news.

Hillary really needs to win the White House to get herself and Bill pardoned

Or, she can drop out for the pardons (Chelsea needs one too) right now.

FROM THE CLINTON FOUNDATION ARCHIVES

Why didn't Al Hunt disclose he is married to Judy Woodruff---listed as a Notable Media Member of the Clinton Foundation?

Did his research include puff pieces the Clinton Foundation sent out to their "Notable Members"....Al's wife, for instance?

Al Hunt's conflict of interest is appalling.

************************************************************

Obama can and will blanket pardon all three of the Clintonts and possibly Chelsea’s kids while he’s at it.

That “blanket” pardon” would also include any pedophile type crimes Bill “may have” committed.

President Obama, his critics notwithstanding, has run a remarkably scandal-free administration, with few ethical lapses.

How anyone can say this with a straight face is beyond me.

Exactly, we don’t want anyone looking into the Clinton Family Laundry so Al Hunt writes a cover piece claiming there is nothing to see.

I am not the expert on what portion of the Clinton Foundation activities are truly charitable but in fairness I believe it is set up as a public (operating) charity that ostensibly relies on donations from the public and uses those donations to conduct direct charitable activities, as opposed to providing grants from an endowment. The donations that went to a variety of other charities was supposed to be funneled through their private Family Foundation ??

has done a number of good works

The article cites programs on climate change for poor people as a prime example. Wonder who showed up for those?

>>> ..... would continue basically as is.

Because both Bill and Hill are so trustworthy in all of their adult lives, we peons should not have questioned their ethics./////

Good luck trying to explain that to Hillary supporters. They only care about their continued welfare checks and more gravy train.

The Clinton Foundation runs at over 90% overhead, pays Chelsey Clinton $600k per year to sit in a corner office snapping bubble gum and blowing bubbles.

What could go wrong?
