As others have pointed out, this would seem to be more of a failure of Trump to draw ratings than Kelly.

And I say that, obviously, as a Trump supporter and as someone who doesn’t really give a sh*t about Kelly, one way or another.

I agree with Trump’s assessment of her, that she just isn’t a very good journalist.

Still, unless there is a boycott in place, why didn’t more people tune in to watch Trump?

If I had cable, I would have.

It’s not Trump’s place nor responsibility to care if her show gets ratings.

No failure of his. He was just responding to request for interview. She asked what questions she wanted, edited as she wanted and was to promote HER show etc.

I only watched her regular show once after people here on FR mentioned her, because I don’t watch much tv. She is so fake especially when she does that soft wispy voice to try to emphasized some thing. I wanted to throw up and turned her off. If anything I watch OANN when available.

People want to vote for Trump and watch his rallies. No one is interested in what kind of a tree he would be if he had his druthers.

More didn’t tune in because we didn’t expect to hear anything new. We know both figures very well already. Now, if Megyn had done the interview in an unusual setting, say, from a room of people Donald had either helped greatly, or harmed greatly (in their views), that would present an element of the unknown. She followed it up with interviews from Michael Douglas, Robert Shapiro and an ‘awkward looking male Transexual.

Michael Douglas is old hollywood, literally, we already know about Mike, his father Kirk, and Mike’s attractive, bi-polar Welsh bride. Shapiro is totally linked with the past O.J. trial, which was just covered on a mini-series. Nice that he has the new business, but no big whoop.
And people are tired of having transexuals served up unbidden and out of context over and over. Old News, and News To Avoid. Add on top of that, The Donald has been on TV every day of every week since last Springtime. I don’t wish Megyn ill, but her Programming Director needs to start thinking more out of the box. You will be able to tell if Miss Megyn is truly worried about her star status if she tries picking a fight with Donald just to rehash the entire drama for more ratings. She may even beg to interview Hillary at this point, just for shock value.

Not really. I had to go to a graduation, but if I had been home watching TV, I would not have watched it, because of her. I would have watched the season finale of NCIS.

I know what kinds of questions she would ask. About relationships, personalities, etc. Like a soap opera.

"If I had cable, I would have."

It wasn't on cable. It was on Fox's regular network.

Are you serious? Before Kelly's attacks against Trump, Fox News was leaving all the cable channels in the dust. Now even MSNBC is beating them.

That is called a boycott.

I have another take one it, samtheman.

Many people are so put off by Megan Kelly that they boycotted the show, refusing to give her any attention. Not all of these are Trump supporters, from what I read. Many supported other candidates, but hated they way they were treated by Fox in these “debates”.

So, there is definitely a boycott of Kelly going on, and a general disgust with Fox.

But there is a boycott in place. I don't have cable, and only get broadcast (over the air) TV. And this was on broadcast TV.

I'm pro-Trump, and no way was I going to watch it. I personally boycotted that show. I figured that either Kelly was going to try to trap Trump again, or she'd do some kind of groveling act to get back in his good graces. I wasn't interested either way.

I’m a Trump supporter, and I did not watch this, nor would I watch any other “special” with Megyn Kelly and Trump. I know all I need to know about Trump, and I wouldn’t give her, or Fox, the time of day after their treatment of Trump. Trump’s a big boy and can handle it, but I don’t need to contribute to their viewership when I can see him plenty of other places. It’s pretty bad when CNN and MSNBC is more even handed with Trump.

I think you’ve hit on the problem. I don’t have cable either, but have read on this forum that the Megyn Kelly special was aired on the Fox broadcast network I receive by antenna. I seldom watch that channel and saw no advertising about the special. I’d have tuned in to watch Trump.

Lol. I didn’t even know I missed it until after the fact. If this had been during the heat of the campaign I’m sure it would have drawn much larger, but with Trump a virtual lock now, interest has slowed until the convention.

Because their(my) desire to not watch Meggin' was stronger than their desire to watch Trump. And there is no shortage of opportunities to see Trump anyway.

I don’t think having it on the Fox Broadcast Channel instead of the Fox News Channel didn’t help either.

It wasn’t on cable. It was on the regular Fox broadcast channel, the same channel that airs Dancing With the Stars. Making my point that it was a mistake putting it on the broadcast channel and not their regular News Channel.

Easy - the people that love Trump DESPISE her attitude at the first debate and would rather excise her from their lives...so who else is left to watch? And, by the way, the butch doo isn’t doing her any good either.

I am a Trump supporter, I did not watch the show due to Kelly, I feel happy that I helped stick it to her.

There were more who had cable and “would not have”. I didn’t watch it.. can’t stand to see her... she’s too cocky and too sure she’s the supreme.

Boycotting was all over Twitter. I wanted to see my man Trump but did not want to see Fox or Kelly get good ratings.

We purposely did not watch the show to keep her numbers down. We have seen it on U-Tube.
