Trump Now Leading In National Poll Averages

Ricardo R. Galvan Sunday, May 22, 2016

Despite claims by the media that Trump would likely lose the election against Hillary (while absurdly claiming that John Kasich performed the best in a head on fight with Clinton), the RCP average of national polls now gives Trump a slight edge. The Hill reports:

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has overtaken Democratic front-runnerHillary Clinton in an average of head-to-head national polls, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Trump leads Clinton by 0.2 percentage points, 43.4 percent to 43.2 percent in the average, overtaking the Democratic front-runner for the first time in the average of polls.

snip...

Also of interest is the over or under sampling of voter groups in national polls that have given Hillary a lead. The latest New York Times poll samples Democrats at 8% over Republicans. Gallup in 2015, on the other hand, gave the Democrats only a 3% edge over their rivals. The New York Times also under samples Independents, giving them only a representation of 34%. Organizations like Gallup are reporting record high numbers of Independents within the 40% range. Donald Trump, of course, is dominating with independents on a national level.

In a few more weeks the media narrative will be “Hillary can’t win” And I am looking forward to the media freak out and hysteria that it’s so unfair that Trump is crushing her.

Trump still hasn’t released his tax returns and I’m sure it is because his effective tax rate is probably lower than yours or mine. That doesn’t bother me at all, but the media will have a field day with it and make it a big issue. My thought is it will haunt him like it did Romney. He should release his tax returns and in a couple of weeks, it will be old news. Better now than in October like Romney did.

I think running against Mr. Bill is really genius. People like Mr. Bill, and if his numbers come down, Mrs. Bill will be indeed threatened but always the favorite of the American people who like the status quo.

Polls conducted by major media outlets will always and forever be skewed in favor of the communists.

I'm not worried about what Trump did. But the deceitful and deviates in D.C./media want you to.

For the past 20+ years Trump was not calling the shots, not in power, nor did he make or legislate all these punitive lunatic laws, regulations, create reckless trillion dollar foreign policy disasters, put us trillions in death of debt spiral, 10 year long compassionate wars costing trillions. Everyone on the planet is making bank on their free trade deals, everyone but Middle America.

It is this which haunts me.

The government is ripping us all off in broad day light while they spend like drunken lotto winners. The fed governments main purposes in life is to secure our borders and protect the homeland. They not only failed at that, but they've aided and abetted all of it including their reckless chain immigration policies. It's all there.

So I have zip zero concern for Trumps tax return.

The Trump taxes doesn't bother me at all..that should be PRIVATE info between the IRS and the tax payer...at least that is what we have been taught.

I'm sure Trump's group of professional CPA’s use every legal tax loop hole that is available to ALL tax payers...that is what he pays them to do...that is what we pay them to do when we hire professional tax filers..so what is the big deal...EVERYONE DOES THIS...

THE MEDIA JUST WANT TO WADE THRU HIS PERSONAL INFO. TO CAUSE ATTENTION...I'M PERSONALLY SICK OF THE MEDIA AND THEIR PROFESSIONAL BULL SH** AND LIES..B. HUSSEIN OBAMA HAS HANDLED THEM WELL FOR HIS OWN BENEFIT..DISGUSTING.

Voters aren’t gonna turn on a guy for minimizing his tax—that’s what all voters themselves do.

Apparently the Dems here in FL are acting schizophrenic. On the one hand they're confident that Trump will be enough of a hinderance for them to gain important seats in the State Assy if not cause it to it flip in favor of the Dems. On the other hand, they're scared out of their wits that Trump can have the same type of appeal that Gov.Scott had when he ran for re-election

How is Beck’s libertarian polling. With Glenn’s track record he may want to get his brakes checked?

Well, me too, but you are only one voter and speak for only one. As a political strategist would think, they successfully ripped Romney to shreds over his tax returns even though he gave one third of his income to charity, a number unmatched by Obama.

They will attempt to do the same to Trump, but it may not work this time since Trump has a spine and will hit back. Romney meekly did nothing to defend himself, which is one reason why he lost.

The fact the media successfully made Romney a cold heartless one percenter does show the mainstream media still has an influence that is unmatched, however, the influence is slipping a bit too slowly for me.

I agree with you on everything you said except for trade. Trump really can't bring these jobs back. I have to say I don't want some of these jobs to come back. For example, textile jobs. Brooks Brothers offers two shirts, one blue and one white that are made in America. They cost $150 each. I buy my shirts on sale at BB for about $62 a piece, the ones imported. I can't afford products made in America. Orvis and a few other companies offer for sale some products made in the US and is much higher. Walmart single handedly has increased the standard of living in the US by 10%, which is amazing. The manufacturing sector in the US is about the same percent as it has always been - we are just making different kinds of products. The trade and job promises will be problematic for Trump.

Those companies are free to go or stay where they are. That’s up to them. But as far as we’re concerned, we’re not required to reward them for doing whatever they choose to do. We need to do what is in Americas best interest. And if that includes tariffs on goods, or whatever, so be it.

That’s the thing about a train wreck. Once it starts you can’t really stop it. You can be scared, livid and outraged but the train has too much momentum to stop.

Yep - I saw one in Rochester NY many years ago. Was waiting at a light and watching a crew working around a railroad track about a quarter mile ahead as a train was going by on the tracks above the road (embankment to raise it enough for bridge to go under it).

Saw the engine tip and the next cars slide off with it and then cars were jumping in the air as the front kept slowing compared to the rest of the train. I remember looking nervously at the cars above me as they went smoothly down the tracks toward the chaos ahead - with seeming ignorance of what lay ahead.

That describes Hillary's campaign/chances to a "T"....

Maybe we should try to talk the New York Times into doing another
biased hateful hit piece..... that’s helped jack up Trump’s numbers...

LOL.....great idea.

In case you missed it.....Al Hunt just did a wonderful "unbiased"
piece WRT The Clinton Foundation and it's (cough) good works.

Unfortunately Hunt failed to mention his wife Judy Woodruff is a "Notable Media Member" of the foundation.

I gather Hunt's research included all the puff pieces Judy got from the Foundation (snx).

Yeah, but those are not important issues to most American.

Hillary has a big lead on the REAL issues like gun confiscation and bathroom diversity.
