Donald Trump to Ben Carson: You’re Fired… From My VP Team
The Daily Beast ^ | May 20, 2016 | Gideon Resnick

Posted on 05/21/2016 12:19:06 PM PDT by EveningStar

Ben Carson has the ability to say everything he shouldn’t at exactly the wrong time.

Since the former neurosurgeon has taken up the role of working on Donald Trump’s vice presidential team, he has suggested that the candidate may pick a Democratic running mate, dropped she-who-must-not-be-named Sarah Palin as a potential pick and earlier generally questioned a number of the presumptive nominee’s habits from his Twitter use to lack of pragmatism.

So he was off the VP team in a hurry.

"No surprise. I really do not think Carson fit for any role beyond retiree. Maybe surgeon general, which is more role model and speaker but definitely nothing demanding management and discipline."

I wonder how Ben would look in the C. Everett Koop Captain Kangaroo uniform? Hopefully not like joycelyn elders, the wanker queen.

Why did Trump hire this clown anyway?

If you're smart, and Trump is, you usually put people in a position to see how they perform.

They usually, as Carson did, start in a position where they could not create unsustainable damage.

IMO.. Carson did the same in this position as he did for HIMSELF when he was running for the nomination.

Carson is a GOOD soul but what he definitely showed is that he is NOT astute politically.

The one thing we’ve learned to expect from Donald. When a situation calls for immediate action, he has no intention of frittering time away with committees and a group of advisors/yes men in order to do a proper job. He makes a decision and acts on that decision with precision. Helicopter rides to the firing of indiscreet individuals action is called for and Donald acts.

Gentle Ben still has a place at the table, he’s just been served something off the menu...but it should be delicious all the same. JMHO

We've been talking Newt all week.

Perhaps Chief of Staff would be better...aka....the President's personal Secretary.

I am thinking Christie more and more. I do like the guy and you can tell he will be loyal. Donald is going to put him on a diet. I just know it.

Carson, you’ve served your most excellent purpose. Now go look for your pants or something.

Why did Trump hire this clown anyway? I’m sorry, but Carson was never fit to run for President in the first place.

All I had to hear was Carson explaining (in an eerily calm voice) that he has permanently quit hitting his mother in the head with a hammer. I had never before heard a presidential candidate provide that kind of an assurance.

Carson is a flake. A nice guy I suppose, but a flake. Unfortunately, his race allowed him to be taken seriously as a Presidential candidate far longer than he deserved. Trump’s attacks on him in the primary were brutal, but served the purpose of getting the electorate to finally acknowledge the truth - that Carson is not Presidential material.

Maybe there was a nicer way for Trump to attack Carson, but I look at it as a friend slapping you across the face to snap you back to reality when you’re deluding yourself. Sometimes there’s no nice way to walk away from someone.

What if you make your own pasta? ;-) Lump crab and Ricotta Ravioli last night with a lemon dill cream and ricotta sauce. ;-P Made from scratch with semolina flour. Took 40 minutes total. 10 dough. 10 hydration and do the rest of the Mise en place then 10 to roll and form the 60 Ravioli, and 10 for the final cook plate and serve. (Disclaimer: I am a husband)

Trump is a very loyal guy. It was undoubtedly the tough realist, Manafort, and not the more politically-inexperienced Donald, who stepped in to facilitate the release of Carson before he did further damage.

I would have approved this cut, also.

Ben is good on the bench, but not so good in the batter's box.

Yes, the uniform has to go! The uniform would make Carson look like a clown or worse. Better to see him get out hospital garb, play the nation’s doctor.

The daily beast is a Soros publication.

Do you have a source proving this?

organization skills (of which he has plenty)

He was a brain surgeon. Not a CEO. According to people who worked with him, he was a good surgeon but did not get along well with the people around him, organizationally.

I still like him. Having worked with a lot of surgeons, I can tell you it is rare that they are not a tad anti-social. Not all of them, but many. It takes a certain grandiose psychology to have the self confidence to cut on people...especially into their brains. I think Carson acts and thinks like a surgeon.

Making pasta by hand sounds interesting. I doubt I can train my hubby to do that, though.

He knows how to make pizza. Although last night, he went to Little Caesar’s.
