NYT doesn't allow comments, so I want to hear your comments here. Basically NYT says the wall is too big and impracticle and Trump is an "idiot."

A lot more than you can afford, considering that he’s not going to do either of those things.

10 billion is cheap. Hillary lost more than 10 billion. I remember the IRS was audited and couldn’t account for Billions.

Simple, stop the damned welfare, food stamps, emergency rooms, etc. . They will go back by themselves or starve. Then take the money you have saved in food stamps and build a wall with prisoner labor...hard labor from those who came here and committed crimes.

I would love to see the wall become reality but don’t think it will happen. The best wall is the enforcement of existing laws which will not happen as well. Regardless, Trump has brought the issue front and center. If he can do three things: Protect the border, rebuild the military and appoint constitutional conservatives on the court, then I’m with him. Viva Donald!

If we were to enforce the law already in place forbidding work and residence and also remove all government benefits to illegal immigrants then the cost would be minimal. Indeed, if everyone coming here illegally only faced starvation and homelessness then there would not even be a need to build the wall.

...NYT doesn’t allow comments...

As a major liberal tactic, dissent and views different from those of liberals are not allowed. The opposition must be silenced. If that can’t be accomplished, then the opposition must be destroyed by every means possible.

CA is planning on spending five (5) times that for a quick train from nowhere to nowhere.

The US budget is 21 trillion annual, 21 thousand billion.

Scraping together that amount, even if mehico was not sent the bill, is a piece of cake.

Get the money from here:

Outraged over $23 billion in wrongful tax credits? Blame Congress

“The IRS has, for years, known and reported that nearly 25 percent of the EITC payments it makes are going to people who don’t actually qualify for the credit under the law. And in a vast number of cases, the agency has the ability to identify these false claims before payment is issued. However, it has neither have the legislative authority to stop those payments from being issued nor the necessary resources to investigated incorrect EITC claims on an individual basis.”

Not a construction expert but deporting could be done for about $550 million.

$50 bounty on every uninjured Illegal payable in cash at any southern POE.

I35 would be jammed up southbound with redneck dually pickups hauling cattle trailers.

The logistics would be nightmarish, including multiple concrete casting sites and temporary housing for a crew of 1,000 workers if the job were to be completed within Mr. Trump’s first four-year term.

Use a whip and get it done in three.

As I read the excerpt, I hear the echo of a plumber looking at my toilet and saying, “Whoa, this is going to be expensive.”

Sure, so we do nothing?

Hey NYT all your Holy Grails will never be wiped out, so why do anything about them? AIDS ain’t goin away, so why bother? Neither is crime, just let em go. Drugs? Same result. “Racism”? Same.

Go ahead, follow your own advice and just ignore what “ails” you about this country and the world. It is what it is.

Deal?

What would it take?

The will to do so...and the backing of the American people.

I think he will have both.

This guy’s estimate puts it at $2,400 per foot. Lefties declare this impossible.

California’s high speed rail cost $16,000 per foot (likely to go up). Lefties declare this possible.

Walls are static, not precision built, and easy to maintain. Lefties think this is hard.

High speed railroads include things moving at hundreds of mph, must be built to precise tolerances, and must constantly be monitored and inspected to avoid catastrophe. Lefties think this is easy.

Trump wants to use fees on money transfers to Mexico, so he has a funding source. Lefties think this is impossible.

The bullet train relies on taxpayer money for construction, and incredibly shaky estimates of ridership and fare rates to keep the system operational. Lefties close their eyes and pretend that these estimates always fall short.

This is what they have to resort to, lamenting about the price. As though the cost of anything has mattered to the NYT.

What really frosts them is that a law regarding the wall was PASSED by Congress and SIGNED into law by a President. Both of whom assumed it would never happen...they thought it was a “show” vote for them. heh

Trump needs the permission of no one, and only needs to tell the IRS to enforce the existing law of the EITC payments to pay for it.

LOL.
