So marijuana is harmless and doesn’t kill people? Consider the case of black Muslim teenager Hamza Warsame, who took a toke and plunged to his death. His friends from the hood blamed it on a non-existent white man who allegedly pushed the kid to his death.
The headline in last December’s New York Times story was certainly ominous: “Assertions of Hate Crime in Seattle After a Somali-American Teenager Falls to His Death.” The paper said, “The death of the boy, Hamza Warsame, has prompted outrage among members of the Muslim community here, amid assertions—it is not clear from whom—that he was beaten and pushed to his death by a white man.”
Notice how a “white man” was blamed, despite the complete lack of evidence. Where did the allegations come from? The Times seemed not to know.

Community organizers, politicians and media types immediately lie and say he was pushed by a non-existent white man.
Accusations of hate crime spread and demonstrators are out in force.

To give the issue context, consider response to the San Bernardino shooting that took place last week. Hardly 24 hours after the shooting, the media response was swift, implicating the Pakistani couple that was killed, and links to terrorism as a motive were just as immediate.
There was no questioning of news outlets for drawing these conclusions before official reports were released.
Conversely, Somali and Muslim Americans have been targeted by hate-motivated individuals, but those crimes have not received the same swift attention as when they are potentially the perpetrators.”

The Times seemed not to CARE where the allegations came from is more like it.

And the fact that there are (and always have been) so many of them equates to them being typical of pot smokers.
The stereotype is based in reality.
Kind of embarrassing. In a pot-induced anxiety, he worried about his status with Allah and, according to the story, miscued when he tried to make a rooftop jump that he could otherwise have made, and fell to his death.
Not surprising they made up a story.

So many people who call themselves religious thrill over the idea of a celestial hitman. They do not realize that the thrill is turning them into the image of the same.

God invented death and moving on to the next realm. And He gives each of us a chance to worship Him or other things such as pot, and we (including Him) carry out the consequences.
Be careful, HTR. Your idolatry of something other than Jesus is showing on these pot threads.
Well, you know, even if it didn’t happen that way, a white man COULD have pushed him off of the balcony. And that is all that matters to the media.

The libertarian in me says HiTechRedNeck has the right to be left alone as long as he’s not harming anyone else. And God, in his own sovereignty, will either get a hold of his life or not...it’s not up to us. All we can do is pray and live our life based on His example.
Yes, but I know HTR is aspiring to something greater than promoting pot. He is one of the greatest and most effective evangelists for Jesus on FR. And as his brother in Christ, I’m just giving him a little tough love.
I don’t “idolize” Jesus as you imply that I ought to. That would be to reverence an idol. I worship an actual God.
