Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan concluded their highly anticipated meeting Thursday amid signals that the Republican Party will work to piece itself together after a fractious primary.

"While we were honest about our few differences, we recognize that there are also many important areas of common ground," Trump and Ryan said in a joint statement. "We will be having additional discussions, but remain confident there's a great opportunity to unify our party and win this fall, and we are totally committed to working together to achieve that goal."

I still hope that Ryan is primaried out of his seat....Sarah Palin has endorsed Paul Nehlen, Ryan’s primary opponent and has unleashed funding form SARAHPAC.

It was shortly after the Palin announcement that we find Ryan trying to find “common ground” with Trump, when in fact Ryan sold out America in both the Iran Deal and the Omnibus Budget.

IMHO soon Ryan will not have a House Seat and will no longer be a vexation to Trump’s agenda to Make America Great Again.

Trump plays hard ball, all of this “unity” whimsy is actually all show and a SORDID attempt to derail the Trump agenda.

I don’t trust Ryan. I am sure Trump is smart enough to be wary about him too.

Mr. Ryan, listen up...

I don't give a rat's rear end about "unity".

You establishment folks got your feelings hurt. Too bad, so sad. Let me tell you what we do care about: winning.

Beat Hillary. At the end of the day, we can't afford another 4 years of this awful economy. We want to win. So, suck it up and be a man. You make nice with Mr. Trump and you vote for him. If you can't do that, then accept that you will be back in WI soon. Don't worry, I will get you a job here in Green Bay.

Interestingly, on Mark Levin's own scorecard (Conservative Review)---Levin who seems to be a self-appointed arbiter of what's conservative---Ryan is scored at "F" with a conservative rating of 56%.

Yet, the thundering herd of self-appointed "conservatives" seeking "unity" and accommodation of "conservative principles" with Donald Trump is a guy who is represented by a guy rated by these "conservatives" an F on their own scoreboard and, assuming +/-50 would be the dividing line between liberal and conservative (?) Ryan is barely conservative at all.
