‘Free Republic’ Now A Safe Space for Donald Trump Supporters [Jim's response at post 25]

On the right, we’ve grown to pride ourselves on our greater openness to debate and ideas, on having no need to toe a Politically Correct line or crawl into a “safe space” like pampered college kids who just can’t handle hearing from anyone who disagrees with them.

For myself, I am so personally dedicated to this ideal that I even perform the great personal sacrifice of reading the comments field beneath my articles.

Yet somehow I wasn’t surprised to see Donald Trump supporters, those swaggering tough guys, turn one of their favorite Internet forums into a safe space where they no longer need to encounter criticism or opposition. Earlier today, Free Republic proprietor Jim Robinson announced that the discussion board would no longer tolerate opposition to Trump’s candidacy.

Look here Tracinski, you and your cyber-sycophants are obviously confused regarding the difference between "free speech" and "private property". Free Republic is NOT and never has been, a totally wide open public forum where anyone can spew and spout off any damn thing they wish, they first have to actually register WITH the owner of FR (Jim Robinson) and agree to abide by specified guidelines. Free Republic is PRIVATE PROPERTY, no different than if posters were personally hanging out in JimRob's living room but if they get out of line, they're going to be shown the door, they are GUESTS not permanent residents.

Free Republic is 100 percent privately funded, with no commercial advertising, no subsidies, it is run entirely on donations from the posters and from the resources of Jim Robinson. "His house, his rules". Jim did indeed state that there is not going to be any more tolerance for the backstabbing subversive behavior generated by Cruz supporters who refuse to accept that the primary war is over, their guy lost, but just like that fanatical Japanese soldier who kept on fighting after 1945, the more rabid Cruz fanatics keep on roaming the island and occasionally pop up to take a pot shot on FR, and they are deleted (*ZOTTED* as we FReepers like to call it), and rightly so.

Do you have a problem with that Tracinski? If so, too bad, so sad. What was your FReeper name before YOU got the Zot?

The choice before us is Trump, who genuinely loves our Country, or Hillary Rotten Criminal, who would represent not only the return of the Clinton Crime Syndicate to the White House, it would effectively be the third term of that treasonous scumbag Barky O'Bama. Choose as if the future of our Nation depended on it.

Totally behind Trump. If FR is safe space and opposing viewpoints are to be zotted, will we soon be preaching to the choir? But maybe that is what is necessary this election.
