Cruz slams media for ‘manipulating’ voters
The Hill ^ | May 10, 2016 | Ben Kamisar

Ted Cruz on Tuesday accused the media of propping up its preferred candidates, saying the news industry helped fuel presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s rise.

"This election will be studied for the role of the media, and in particular network executives," Cruz said on Glenn Beck's radio program, his first public interview since ending his presidential campaign last week.

"That has a dramatic impact on the polls, when every network becomes the super-PAC for the candidate that they want to win."

Cruz attacked media execs for “manipulating and trying to deceive the voters” and said Trump's rise was "heavily fueled by the media executives who have run him 24/7."

TC, anything you can do to help Trump’s agenda in the Senate, or will you continue to act this way?

Insert Quote from Casablanca.

Cruz is now asking why the media doesn’t like him.

Oh what a cry baby.

Trump took every opportunity made to him to appear on radio and TV. Ted did not. Trump is master of the new media Ted is not. Ted is still waiting in the corner to have a one on one debate because his ‘consultants’ told him that he would wipe the floor against Trump.

Ted had a losing strategy from day. He played to be in at then end but not be leading. He played to lose and he has

Why have so many media people complained that they couldn’t get Ted to come on their shows?

Because Ted was a coward about talking to reporters.

What? Did he just figure this out? It's been going on since forever.

I suppose its because it was his ox that got gored.

Makes me more thankful he lost.

Ted’s problem was more people got to hear him rant. He’s not a likeable person. That’s not Trump’s fault.

Meaning Ted Cruz is bitter about Trump’s superb handling of the media.

To Sen. Cruz -

Immediately after Hillary’s coronation at the Democrat convention the lamestream media will all circle their wagons around Hillary and start lobbing attacks on Trump 24/7.

Anyone who thinks that the media’s coverage of Trump has been unfairly negative up to now ain’t seen nothing yet.

Trump was only “preferred” because he got ratings. And while there may be some academic value to such an analysis, now is not the time for a losing candidate to engage in that kind of speculation, as it only serves to make him look like a sore loser.

Cruz also complained that MSNBC, Fox and Hannity had Trump on all the time but they said they put out the word that Cruz could call in or be on at any time and they seldom heard from him.

One more thing I remember a few times when Anderson Cooper said he asked Cruz to come on his show....Cooper even said Cruz complains about us giving Trump time...then why doesn’t he come on my show when I ask him?

http://gretawire.foxnewsinsider.com/2016/05/03/i-dont-know-about-lyin-ted-but-i-do-know-about-doesnt-tell-the-whole-story-ted/

I don’t know about “Lyin’ Ted” but I do know about “Doesn’t Tell The Whole Story Ted”

Senator Ted Cruz complained this morning about Fox News Channel being unfair to him. He took a few swipes at Fox News Channel CEO Roger Ailes and 21st Century Fox Chairman Rupert Murdoch for turning Fox News into the “Donald Trump Network.” In taking those swipes, he also took swipes at my show and my staff on ON THE RECORD at 7p since we have worked hard to give Cruz equal opportunity and we have.

Hence I respond with the whole story.

If Senator Ted Cruz told the whole story this is what he would have to tell you:

Almost every single day (including weekends) since at least last December when he last appeared on ON THE RECORD at 7p, the staff of ON THE RECORD at 7p has contacted the Cruz campaign offering Senator Ted Cruz live interviews, taped interviews or town halls. We even told his campaign on dozens occasions that they could pick the date and location for the town halls. He did not take us up on our offers. The staff claimed he was unavailable.

But it wasn’t just my staff making those offers to the Cruz campaign, so did I and many, many, many times. Even as recently as yesterday, I was back and forth with his campaign.

We bent over backwards trying to give him the opportunity for interviews. He elected not to – which is his right – but now he is crying boo-hoo and claiming we are unfair.

To the extent Senator Cruz complains that Fox News carried Trump speeches, so did the other networks, CNN and MS/NBC. Is he complaining about them?

That’s the whole story – Senator Cruz has had equal opportunity to appear at 7pm ON THE RECORD but has declined. Period.

That’s the whole story.

PS. My invitations for interviews to Senator Cruz remain open and I will be fair and respectful as I am in all my interviews of Presidential candidates.
