The Citadel cadets with pillowcases over their heads while singing Christmas carols sure made the news.

I texted an Army buddy who graduated West Point five years ago and asked him what he thinks (he's also half black).

He said that this type of picture is a long-standing tradition at WP, albeit this is the first one he has seen where the raised fist was used. He found the pic cringe-worthy on it's face but it needs to be put into context. He also said this type of conversation needs to be had.

One thing I have learned over the years is that there are three sides to every story: yours, mine, and the truth. I will reserve judgment on this pic until I get the story.

Conversation about what? BLM? Racism at the academies and in the military? The raised fist is the issue, not a group photo of black cadet women.

Do you really think we are going to get the truth? From whom?

After 4 years they finally feel free and unencumbered to display their hatred of white people and their school, and also of the white taxpayer who paid for their schooling.

A discussion started on fb about it. A girl said they were celebrating their accomplishments. I explained if that’s all that’s it is, then fine. But the issue is the military wants unity and not division or elevation of any religion or race. That the problem was that the pose was in uniform. The response was ‘whatever’.
