My only experience with London, and Londoners was my visit, a business trip there in 1977.
I happened to be there during all the hubbub of the Queens Jubilee.
There were lots of Muslims around at the time, and the general feeling was they were an integral part of the community. Those I met, and interacted with were seemingly acceptable sorts, but of course I wasn’t there during a time such as is today when Muslims have created such a furor with their arrogance, incivility, murder, and mayhem.

Reflecting on the conversations with various of the natives I’d be inclined to strongly agree with your premise.

Thanks for your insight in this, that seems reasonable to me though I’ve never been to Britain.
My step FIL must be turning in his grave also. His parents immigrated to the U.S. early last century. He enlisted in the Army shortly before WWII broke out and spent time in London before being sent to France and Germany after the invasion. He then went back to London after the war ended and spent more time there.
He liked to talk about the English people and how strong and resilient there were during the war, of course there were still English there that were relatives of his.
The influx of Muslims is so sad, not only in Britain but many countries in the EU.
