Some primaries work on an "indirect" or "two step" basis. The people vote for candidates, and a separate state convention votes for delegates.

A few work on direct or one step basis. The votes elect the delegates directly, there is no separate delegate selection convention.

Those delegate selection conventions are where Cruz has been poaching delegates.

Don’t worry dear onyx, we will be voting. We have so many local and state offices to fill. We won’t sit home and let our local elections go to the incumbents. So when we go to elect our school board members, our judges, our delegates and senators, we will just slip in a vote for President at the top of the ballot. We know that. We’re not going to neglect to vote for our choice for president. It’s a small state with fewer population that a large city. Word would get around even if we didn’t need to vote. Besides, Manafort is on this.

What he should have said is the people have set a record for primary votes. Let see how many WV can add to it.

I love Trump. I just don’t think telling people not to vote, when 1237 is not bound is not very smart.

In WV you don't vote for the candidate, you vote for the delegate 4 the candidate. Perhaps only Trump delegates on ballot? Dunno?

‘Stayed in a campground in Kentucky called Kingdom Come. True story.’

There is a book by that name : The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come. Published in 1903 and takes place in Kentucky.

Yes, you are right jenny. I think most or all of the delegates are already committed before the primary election, but we will still go and vote.

Oh man. This is a blunder.

Not saying he doesn’t still win, but I just can’t make sense out of this.

I was a bit concerned about his talk about not voting now. More the better I would think. And I saw a few of the posts that had Cruz tweets. Sounds like he’s still on it and perhaps that’s why he didn’t wish Trump well in his speech (outside the fact that Cruz is a narcissistic jerk).

That wouldn’t surprise me in the least, but the Chicago one was a bunch of nasties from the other side; including Billy Ayers.

They did. I didn’t go to one of his rallies but anytime it is on C-Span they keep it up for a bit.

Can you post the latest Cruz email you received? Would be interesting to see the wording. The Lawyer Cruz might be parsing words as lawyers do. Sounds like Cruz is just lying low.

Ben Ginsburg said on MSNBC even AFTER RNC Chair said Trump was presumptive nominee that there are many TRAPS in the RNC rules. Basically saying they could get delegate votes away from Trump on multiple fronts. Ben Ginsburg is a Bush spokesperson if there ever was one, and he was definitely not accepting Trump as the presumptive nominee. Even the MSNBC panel was a little confused by his confidence that Trump still might not be the nominee. They asked him over and over again, basically saying, why are you so confident that he might not be the nominee after Cruz suspended and RNC Chair said he was? Ginsberg kept talking about all the traps that are in the RNC Convention rules. Basically, traps to stop a front runner if needed.
