Donald Trump’s policy plans are real, detailed — and great
New York Post ^ | May 4, 2016 | Betsy McCaughey

The Trump campaign is putting forward proposals to fix problems from the long waits for medical care at Veterans Affairs facilities to the impending collapse of ObamaCare.

Check out Trump’s economic plan, for starters. Unlike Hillary Clinton’s anti-business agenda, Trump’s plan would actually help unemployed Americans get back to work.

Trump slashes the corporate-tax rate to 15 percent, down from the current 40 percent, the highest rate in the industrialized world. Not all American companies pay that staggering rate, but even after deductions and accounting maneuvers, companies in the United States end up clobbered by taxes nearly twice the global average (24 percent)...

The corporate tax rate reduction sounds like a real winner.

The long term solution to the problems which veterans face would be to eliminate the idiotic foreign policy and the frivolous uses of our military (VietNam, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria.....)

In the case of the VA however, I believe the agency needs to be abolished and I suspect it would have to be cheaper to simply issue unlimited ebt cards to veterans for medical care or put them on medicare or something.

To abuse an ebt card for medical care you'd have to be a masochist i.e. there is nothing that happens at hospitals which doesn't hurt...

H1-B visas aren’t actually hurting the economy. And inversions are just a response to our bad tax and regulatory policies.

Lower the tax rate, reduce regulations, enforce our immigration laws, and give corporations a holiday on repatriating their dollars earned abroad.

That will make our economy roar.

"The Obama administration suffocated business with 81,000 pages of new regulations in 2015 alone. Hillary is pushing for even more — with controls on hiring, pay, bonuses and overtime to promote “fairer growth.” Translation: gender and racial preferences, plus meddling in how much you get paid."

And how and what will be done to strike so much of this from the books so business can do what it does best, try to make Revenues that can also parlayed into PROFITS? Especially the EPA. Ya think the real reason we don't make things here is China's cost or the fact they are polluting the snaught out of their country because they are not good stewards of their environment? One of my auto gnomes noted they need an Environmental Import Duty ( or whatever you want to call it ) as they are not playing fair, it is a huge advantage. It could be a couple of bucks for a small auto part.

"I suspect it would have to be cheaper to simply issue unlimited ebt cards to veterans for medical care or put them on medicare or something."

Perhaps a card that has a HSA for catastrophic care and "Direct Primary Care" ( Cash to your Primary Care Dr, a flat fee / month, w/ 24/7 coverage for anything, no paperwork ).

This could be their one more mission if you will, as this could be a template for Medicare-caid reform. Also put Congress on it. Keep VA facilities for those recovering from severe war injuries etc. etc, but care for Veterans that are back in the mainstream, why not a free-market type option?

H1-B visas are hurting middle class jobs, and tech is a powder keg right now. Illegal immigration is hurting much worse. So no, I’m not exactly going to waver on that stance because I’m sick and tired of anyone telling me it’s a good idea to have all these unemployed STEM engineers as WalMart cashiers.

These are quick easy fixes any pinhead in Congress should immediately sign up for, then get to work unraveling the mountainous US code.

Putting a throttle on tech talent from the level we have now will only limit the effects of improved tax rates, repatriation of corporate dollars, and reduced regulations.

We need at least the tech talent capacity we have now if we’re going to crank up growth.

I cannot wait to see the talent Trump will bring to DC.

The political whores of the last 25 years have looted this nation.

Trump is the only one who can rebuild it.

Hey Mr Trump, how about a 20 % reduction in personal income taxes by letting the people keep it all one year in every 5, then no income taxes after age 65?

I doubt he’ll be able to pull off the hold on muslim immigrants.

He should immediately double-down by putting a hold on ALL immigration until:

- all legal immigrants have satisfactorily assimilated and become Americans

- the illegal immigrant problem has been dealt with, which includes the wall and enforcing the current laws

- the REAL unemployment rate is at an acceptable level

- the economy, including the debt, is well underway to being recovered

- a plan to ensure that no radicals, of any kind, are entering the country

It’s been done before and can be done again. This eliminates the screams of discrimination. Neither of our countries’ are in need of immigrants at the moment.

It makes sense, because CAIR will play the religion card.

They will say Trump cannot stop immigrants by their religion.

Just shut it all down.

The H1-B visas are killing employment opportunities and stagnating wages for AMERICANS. In the sense that they are accomplishing those two things, I guess they are not hurting the economy.

I wonder what the plan is to deport the Dominicans that fly into JFK every week and make Hazleton PA their home. Get on welfare and destroy neighborhoods with drugs and crime.

I agree an expansion of H1-B is unfair, and in a static economy even the continuation of H1-B levels is unfair.

But the only way American wages and opportunities are amped up across the board is if you don’t have a key constraint, such as limiting tech talent and escalating dramatically its cost.

Clamping down on that critical supply element would undo too many other good effects of measures to boost the economy generally.

I read somewhere that Trump doesn’t want income taxes on $50,000 and below. He says it costs more than it raises.

9YearLurker is a Slave Master likely benefitting from banning the citizenship of tech workers.

Make all H1Bs citizens overnight. But you Slave Masters hate lawful because those techies go on welfare and an entire new horde of tech foreigners must be hired.
