It is at this point, that its important to know what Kind of tech your talking about, are you referring to IT, or engineering, or.... what? There are many forms of technical excellence out there, and ALL of them are being affected.
I will start, my expertise is Aeronautical Engineering, Structural Design, and CAD technology, along with all supporting Technologies. Not included in my skillset but vitally important is stress and dynamics, Tooling, Metallurgy, Standards, GD & T. I have worked all over the country for many years on many projects, so I go to the work, it does not come to me, and I see, every day, talented experienced Engineers let go for cheaper labor from outside the US.
Your turn.
All kinds of engineers have for better or worse, fairer or more likely not, “ageing out” of viability and demand for their positions.
Outsourcing in various forms is of course hitting less technical professions such as accounting, law, consulting, and so forth—though primarily by moving lower end operations to India and the like.
I was however thinking of the pure IT world, with pure programming at front of mind.
Hmmm, so what your saying is that IT professionals, ie pure programmers, don’t age out?
That being, get too old to get work, I presume?
My, don’t we think highly of ourselves...lol
