No matter how crude and simplistic the labels, they always seems to stick, dumbfounding old-school political observers who are used to candidates competing for the “high road.”
The strategy of GOP bigwigs appears to be: “lose badly, but remain virtuous.”
The power of Trump’s branding is partly down to the media’s hunger for drama, and partly thanks to his business acumen — but it’s also in large part due to his internet supporters, who have an uncanny ability to create and popularise cultural tropes. Milo definitely gets it. While Rush calls the Indiana Trump supporters who took down Cruz ‘braindead,’ Cambridge-educated Milo saw the absolute hilarity in their quick verbal assaults. When Cruz tried video - that awful stunt of cooking bacon on a rifle - most people groaned at the doofusness of it.
You nailed it. I was listening to Rush when he tried explaining why that critic of Cruz wasn’t engaging in “dialogue” or something.
Rush needs to get off the dull tech blogs and come on to FR where the jokes and hilarious photoshops rule. Here, Cruz didn’t last a minute with the freeper Trump supporters.

This topic is very important, I believe. I have noticed the same things among Trump supporters, especially the younger ones. Truly, some of the stuff produced is hilarious. Mocking is a time-honored political tool, because it works. I hope the energy of these folks can be turned on HRC in the general. An all-out assault is absolutely required to win. Energy cannot abate.
