Columnist Charles Krauthammer argued that the GOP is “being led by a non-conservative populist” and that from what he’s seen so far, “I don’t think I’d be capable of voting for Donald Trump” on Tuesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.

“OP establishment in 2016: “Wait, what? we didn’t get our guy? Well screw that, we’re out!” “

No, the Establishment will vote for Trump.

The people who will stay home are movement conservatives who refuse to vote for (in their minds) a fraud liberal.

It will be a historic bloodbath.

I doubt Trump will even be able to take Texas, the negative feelings against him for his slanders against Senator Cruz are so high.

All these so-called Republicans who “righteously” proclaim that they can’t support Trump now that he is the presumptive nominee are revealing their true colors. They are all part of the uni-party.

This election is going to reflect the biggest realignment of governmental values in the history of our republic. People are going to ignore their traditional party affiliations and vote for Trump to reform the federal government which is totally out of control. I am truly hoping that eight years from now we will see a much lower national debt, a balanced budget, a significant rollback of ridiculous regulations, and a big increase in states’ rights. Along with that we will see higher employment with a return of manufacturing, less involvement with ‘foreign entanglements’ and a higher level of global peace. Maybe we will even get a constitutional amendment imposing term limits on Congress and the Supreme Court. Of course, I’ve been an idealist in the past... We’ll see.

No thanks. I’ve written those types off as a complete and ineffectual waste of time. I can read all the arguments against or criticisms of Trump right here on FR.

One of my thoughts over the years was the move by Krauthammer and others to the Republicans in Reagan’s last term. They worked to undermine Reagan policies and with the election of G.H.W. Bush were able to stop the Reagan movement. It was briefly resurrected in 1994 but quickly sold out by the establishment and Dole was made the loser nominee in 1996.

In 2010 the base rose up and the establishment co-opted the movement and working with the press and .democrats made sure it could not evolve into a strong open opposition to the establishment. Then came 2012 and Romney.....enough said. Again the base rose up in 2014, gave the Senate to the Republicans and were quickly betrayed and vilified by their own leaders.

Now the base has arisen again supporting Trump and Cruz and anything against the establishment. The leadership is once again trying to kill the movement. The hoped to get to an open convention where they would eventually nominate their own acceptable candidate. They were going to use Cruz for that purpose but many saw through the tactic and I believe it was one of the reasons for the massive shift in sentiment the last few weeks. There was real fear that by backing Cruz the GOPe would get exactly what they wanted and many backed away from Cruz in order to ensure we did not get to an open convention.

Now many in the establishment will publicly either not support Trump or will express reservations openly and often about voting for him to build even more questions in the electorate at large. They cannot let him win and the movement has to be destroyed at all costs even if that gives us Hillary, a Democrat controlled Senate and House.

Elitist pricks.

All of them.

The country can go hang; only their money, fame, influence and cocktail party friends matter.

I am so sick of the Uniparty of which Krautyammer, Dana PeRINO, Rove, The Bushes, John Roberts, MSM including Fox, the Chamber of Commerce, etc. are part of. They don't get it.

We are furious that they, the Uniparty, has allowed Obama to grow the National Debt to $20 Trillion.

We are furious that they, the Uniparty, has allowed ObamaCare to ravage America.

We are furious that they, the Uniparty has broken immigration laws for decades and forced tens of millions of illegal immigrants down our throat.
We are furious that a handful of those illegal immigrants brought us 9/11.

We are furious that they, the Uniparty, have grown the Federal Government's budget to where it is today.

We are furious that they, the Uniparty, inflicts low interest rates on the country and threatens us with negative rates.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, bitches and moans when the government shuts down but somehow finds the government workers to shut down the WW2 Memorial to WW2 vets.

We are furious when we lose wars because they, the Uniparty, refuses to win.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, argues about water boarding as the Muslims behead, crucify, and rape infidels.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, passes trillion dollar Omnibus bills and think they are doing a good job.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, fund lawless President's lawless executive orders.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, allows the IRS to harass the citizens.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, allows Obama and Hillary to get away with Benghazi.

We are furious when they, the Uniparty, allows Hillary to get away with deleting emails while under subpoena, a do State Department business on a private server and cutting private deals with foreign entities at the expense of this country.

The list is so much longer. Get this Uniparty, Trump is our choice. You, Uniparty, have failed the country. Get out of the way, we want to put things right.

Well, there goes D.C.’s three electoral votes!

It is Virginia that is the issue. I'm trying to think of a VP candidate that helps and the only ones that come to mind are Carson and Rubio. I'm not convinced either are ready to step in should something happen to Trump. It's really a shame that McDonnell exposed himself and his family to legal problems.

I can well understand Krauthammer feels about voting for Trump, that’s just how I felt about voting for Mitt Romney! I just could not do it. One thing I have learned for sure this election cycle, the people I used to look up to are nothing but hypocrites and liars. I had a hunch this was the case when they all supported Romney 4 years ago, sometimes quite enthusiastically, but now it has been confirmed. I hope they all just go away and are never heard from again.

As I said on another thread, if people like Krauthammer and Kristol leave the GOP and back Hillary, that will be the best thing that has ever happened to the Republican Party. The Democratic Party is the right place for advocates of open borders and internationalism. Meanwhile, we’ll win over millions of rust belt Democrats who’ve been stabbed in the back by their own party thanks to the Democrats’ liberal immigration policy and “free trade” deals.

Mr. Krauthammer, if your hatred of Donald Trump is such that you cannot defend the Constitution and our Republic against the evil of socialism, then you are neither a patriotic American nor a conservative.

I sincerely hope (and expect) that you will reconsider your decision to support whichever socialist nominee the Democrats run so as not to dishonor yourself.

The difference between Trump & Hilly on the nuclear codes ..... I have no doubt that if Hilly could make a buck doing it, she’d nuke her own country/Americans. She’s already proved her ability to do this by letting the four die in Benghazi then lying about it. Kraut should put that in his pipe and smoke it.

Manchin Dems in Southwest VA will help with unrecoverable northern VA votes. Southwest VA looks a lot more like WV than DC. The numbers are in northern VA, but the way to exterminate a parasite is not to feed it. If we lose VA because of it, we’ll have to make it up elsewhere.
