Cruz is an automaton....wind him up, throw the switch and he repeats set speeches with some movements. Interrupt him and all he does is keep going with his memorized set piece.
The protester was BRILLIANT and Ted looked like the idiot he is.

I didn't say Ted Cruz did himself any good. I'm just saying that he wasn't looking to provoke a fight but to win the guy over.
A dumb idea, admittedly. No point trying to reason with jerks -- which the guy definitely was.
But if one believes there's a place for rational argument and intelligent discussion in politics one might give Ted his due.
I'm saying this as somebody who doesn't much like the guy.
