Donald Trump’s Foes Fear Indiana Primary Could Be Decisive Blow
NY Times ^ | 05-02-2016 | ALEXANDER BURNS

The coalition of Republicans opposed to Donald J. Trump’s candidacy braced Monday for a debilitating setback as he appeared poised for a victory in Indiana that would put him on track to seal the Republican nomination by the time primary voting ends next month.

The Indiana vote has emerged as a decisive and perhaps final test for Senator Ted Cruz, who has abandoned hope of overtaking Mr. Trump in the race but still aims to throw the Republican nominating fight to a contested convention in July. Mr. Cruz, of Texas, has pleaded with Indiana voters in recent days not to anoint Mr. Trump as the party’s standard-bearer, and has devised a series of long-shot tactics to derail him in the state.

Don’t wish to act like an eight years old toward Cruz, but he is acting like a five year old.

A very smug spoiled five year old.

Cruz is a sleeze ball. I think he also probably tubed his political career when he exposed himself as a used car salesman.

Weaping and wailing and gnashing of teeth — and that is just from Limbaugh and Levin.

Levin, Rush & Beck, in particular, will never again wield political influence.
I don't think they ever did or we wouldn't have had Obama for 2 terms.

I hope Cruz will do the same, which will help save the Republican party, as well as his own career.
I couldn't care less about the Republican Party or Ted Cruz...One is as bad as the other.

I don’t mind the fact that Ted wants to see this thing through until Trump has 1,237 or they reach a contested convention, but what I find hard to take is the abject refusal to acknowledge the clear reality of the state of the race at this point, or that he may in fact not be the nominee and the need to unify. He doesn’t have to support Trump, but stop with the incessant “Donald Trump is not going to get to 1,237” or “Trump is the worst thing since the atomic bomb”, etc., etc. Just admit you’re getting your tail kicked and you’re going to work harder till someone gets to 1,237 or there’s a nominee at the convention.

He just did it again this week- saying we are not bigots, implying Trump and his supporters are. After what happened the last few days (riots), he has the gall to say this. He really should be a Democrat.

Is he still running? Other than beating Ted in four of the last five races, I didn’t know he was still out there.

I agree. It started with the NY values comment and went downhill (with the exception of a Utah and Wisconsin bump) from there.

No serious blunders?

Beck, Romney partnerships.

Two major blunders in Iowa.

Further chronic lying.

Collusion with Kasich.

Announcing VP before nomination.

Cruz is a walking, talking, giant intellectual mutant who lacks ethics and morals. No one respects him, and he has destroyed his career as a politician and a lawyer.

You gotta be kiddin'.

no serious blunders the whole way.

I'll give you two right now:

1.) Glenn Beck

2.) iSnarly Fiorina

The only way he could have made a more serious blunder would have been to moon the voters on live TV.

That judgement thing again. If he had defended Trump’s right to have a rally in Chicago, and a few other things he would be doing better right now. You have to know when to go negative and when to agree. It makes you look better in the eyes of the voters. He does not have common sense!

Funny thing is, if Trump did that his numbers would probably go up 5 points.

Ted’s going to get clobbered tomorrow, but he’ll make some excuse and keep going.
Like he’s done all along.

...

His plan is to steal the nomination, so the vote means little to him.

Cruz will now drag this out another month by calling California the decisive state. And I bet he goes back on his word to lay off in OR and NM

Cruz has really been horrible. He could have recognized early this was Trumps time and allied with him to bargain for a prominent position or future candidacy. Cruz definitely has an agenda controlled by something or someone not on the surface. He is a really really bad egg.
