Donald Trump’s Foes Fear Indiana Primary Could Be Decisive Blow
NY Times ^ | 05-02-2016 | ALEXANDER BURNS

The coalition of Republicans opposed to Donald J. Trump’s candidacy braced Monday for a debilitating setback as he appeared poised for a victory in Indiana that would put him on track to seal the Republican nomination by the time primary voting ends next month.

The Indiana vote has emerged as a decisive and perhaps final test for Senator Ted Cruz, who has abandoned hope of overtaking Mr. Trump in the race but still aims to throw the Republican nominating fight to a contested convention in July. Mr. Cruz, of Texas, has pleaded with Indiana voters in recent days not to anoint Mr. Trump as the party’s standard-bearer, and has devised a series of long-shot tactics to derail him in the state.

As a Cruz supporter, I believe Arizona was the decisive blow.

Better then JEB!

We have been electing professional politicians for decades now and the results have been usually rather horrible.

Perhaps this will turn out better.

“He (Cruz) needs to grow up in that regard.”

Cruz can start acting more mature and less like a spoiled child having a temper tantrum, and then he still has a future. I hope he learns his lesson sooner, rather than later, which may be too late for him.

Ted’s going to get clobbered tomorrow, but he’ll make some excuse and keep going.
Like he’s done all along.

Why wouldn’t he? Cruz is campaigning for Hillary now and trying to suppress the conservative vote for Trump in November.

Nope, losing FL and OH to Trump by a combined 1,000,000 votes ended it. Rest has just been media driven drama.

But aside from all those, and a few more, Ted made no serious blunders the whole way...

Like using the occasion of the Brussels terror attack to launch a rant at Trump’s NATO stance. Cruz never knew when to dial it back. His volume has been at 11 for months and people are sick of it.

Nope. It was Florida. Trump won every county but one against a favorite son sitting US Senator. Rich, middle income and lower income. All Trump. Historic landslide.

I recall when all the right enemies were calling Trump the billionaire bozo, the clown who could never win an election and would never be President. Just about every so called expert, foreign and domestic, the pundits, writers, politicians, and various other media spin hacks were wrong. Or were just flat out lying.

Exactly. He still has a shot at future success if he bows out gracefully upon losing and shucks his advisors for ones with more wisdom.

That’s a tough row to hoe. Being a politician in a year where being a politician was poison. And that in a nutshell is what happened to Cruz.
In a nutshell Cruz is a fraud to the core.

No, I won’t congratulate Cruz on his sleazy campaign, because I would be a liar like him and a hypocrite on top of that.

Now if he acknowledges the handwriting on the wall and drops his smear campaign and gets behind our nominee to defeat crooked Hillary, then I may regain some of the respect I once had for him.

By the way, I would advise against using Jesus’ name like that.

March 15 guaranteed Trump would have the most delegates.
AZ guaranteed he would win on the first ballot — which by definition is the “death blow”

Was listening to Beck this morning on the way to work (fortunately it’s a short drive) and he harped on one instance after the other why Trump was a crook and an exploiter of cheap laborers for one of his projects and on and on. And I’m thinking as he’s droning-on, so what is Ted’s position on importing cheap labor to the USA. Oh, that’s right, Cruz is for increasing H1-Bs as was his new running mate when she was H-P’s CEO. Beck is such a Phool. Well, Brother Beck, I am fasting tonight to end your misery over Indiana’s preference.

Cruz is insane. He's obsessed with being a thorn in Trump's side...that's it.

I think Cruz's dad, Heidi and Ted misread the Ouija board. Cruz was anointed by god to be the loser, not the winner.
