Marco Rubio warming up to Donald Trump

Marco Rubio appears to be warming up to Donald Trump, saying Friday his “performance has improved significantly." Rubio has also continued to withhold an endorsement of Ted Cruz, even though he previously praised him as the conservative in the race.

Last Sunday on Univision Rubio said it appeared Trump will lock down the nomination.

"If he keeps winning delegates like he did the other night in New York, I think he's going to reach that number," Rubio said on Al Punto Florida. "But let's see. There are still other states to go."

And Rubio, who continues to hold onto more than 100 delegates, has warned against a contested convention.

“Look let’s not divide the party. You have someone here who has all these votes, very close to get 1237, let’s not ignore the will of the people or they’re going to be angry. Delegates may decide on that reason that they decide to vote for Donald Trump but if they don’t it’s not illegitimate in any way,” he told Miami radio host Jimmy Cefalo.

“I’ve always said I’m going to support the Republican nominee, and that’s especially true now that it’s apparent that Hillary Clinton will be the Democrat nominee,” Rubio said.

He’s warming up to a job (that he can mostly delegate to subordinates).

I still don’t trust him, not after the Gang of 8 crap with Schumer. He seems too much like the typical pol who will say anything to get into office, and then do whatever he wants for his own benefit thereafter.

I’m not saying that Trump will pick Rubio, I was speculating from Rubio’s standpoint. You watch as Trump gets more and more delegates, more and more people will want to jump on Trump’s bandwagon. From what I can see at this time, Cruz’s usefulness to the establishment is all used up.....period.

Must be pining for a VP slot. Trump could use his delegates and I think that Rubio is out of a job.

If Trump really needs those 170 delgates, (I don't think he will), then, yes offer Rubio something significant. On the other hand, I much prefer Scott Walker as VP. For one thing, I think he assures Trump wins Wisconsin in the general.

Not much of a badge to outsmart Cruz. This cat has made so many mistakes.

"...The little bottom feeder is looking for his opportunity."

Perfect. Makes him possibly quite useful to President "The Donald." As any great deal maker knows, a person with ambition can be manipulated.

My predictions held up pretty well...

"Marco Rubio: I could have been a contenda..."

Another one that has engaged in political self immolation. IMHO both he and Cruz are done caput, fini IMHO. Other than a K-Street lobby gig or selling used Hyndai's somewhere.

Well, the flip side of wishy-washy is he would have no problem flipping back to supporting all of Trump’s policies.

I smell possible VP pick on Trump team, or Rubio finally woke up to Cruz....one of the two.

Don't think so, Trump has questioned the eligibility of both Cubans. Besides it looks like he won't need his delegates.

Rubio is probably the best vp choice for Trump if he can be persuaded to do it. But I don’t think it will be enough to make Trump President.

The selection of Rubio might keep him from being President, otherwise Trump will take the oath in January.

Rubio is doing what Ted should have done early on instead of fighting Trump. Smart move.

He’s better than Cruz since he’s not a whining sniveling LIAR.
