I thought dangerous and incoherent was the new standard - after all that’s exactly what we’ve been subjected to for the last eight years.

There are unmistakable isolationist tendencies in a Trump doctrine, along with nationalism and protectionism. While he pledged to have a bipartisan foreign policy, his vision conflicts with a political consensus in support of alliances such as NATO. Same old shibboleths and fear tactics globalists have been throwing around since the 1950s or before.
The main 'accomplishments' of the globalist policies followed by administrations of both parties have been the deindustrialization of much of the US through one-sided trade deals that could have had no result but to move much US industry to cheap labor nations, and the predictable reduction of job opportunities and living standards for many Americans.
Time for different policies.

“Trump questions international alliances that have kept America safe...”
Hey, Sacramento Bee, exactly how have these alliances kept us safe? Be specific.
I can give lots of instances where other countries’ alliances with us have kept them safe, but I can’t come up with instances where our many, many alliances have kept us safe. Mostly we give and give and give, while others take and take and take.

As incoherent as the concept of the Arab Spring?Seriously, If you drank a bottle of Robitussin-AC, washed it down with a bottle of cheap Canadian whiskey, smoked marijuana, took a tab of LSD, and had some mushroom, you couldn't puke that up on a bathroom floor.

"Trump questions international alliances that have kept America safe"
1. The only thing that has kept America safe is the US Military.
2. What these guys are worried about is that we won't foot the blood and treasure to keep the Freeloaders safe too. That's what has everyone's panties in a bunch.
All of our "allies" have the resources to do this for themselves.

If you embrace Globalism, and the progress towards One World Government, then, yes Trump could be seen as an isolationist. I guard my home, and lock the doors and turn on the alarm at night ,and have a gun and a dog. Am I an isolationist, or just protective of my family?

There is only one group of people that hate America more than radical Muslems and that’s American leftists. Of course they dislike the Trump speech. I liked it and felt that it hit a home run. But that’s me.....I LOVE my Country.

They're smoking the expensive stuff over at the
Bee again. Anyone who could look at the current incoherent, self-destructive mess that is U.S. foreign policy with anything but dismay and contempt isn't paying attention. What we have is a continuum of screw-up running from the unprovoked bloodshed in Libya to the negotiation "breakthrough" in Iran that provided seed capital to our enemies' nuclear programs and permission for all ahead full. And the answer to this festering pile of policy droppings? Elect one of their principal authors!
So I'll pass on the Bee's "expert" opinion, thanks.
To: artichokegrower
Yeah. Hillary Clinton and John Kerry are foreign policy geniuses.
