It’s that old power bug. Once it bites, very, very few can resist the venom.

George Washington did. John Adams did. There are a handful of others.

I finished a book for Regnery called “The Politically Incorrect Guide to the American Presidents from Washington to Taft.”

It’s rather astounding how many of the first 10 or so couldn’t WAIT to get out of the presidency, how they all celebrated when they left office.
