Ryan: GOP can’t be seen as ‘opposition party’
AP via PBS Newshour ^ | April 26, 2016 at 9:28 AM EDT

House Speaker Paul Ryan concedes the “five-point” Republican legislative agenda he’s pursuing in Congress could be construed as competing with policy points the GOP presidential candidates are pushing in the primary season.

But he argues that the party shouldn’t wait until its nominating convention in July to tell the public its priorities, including lowering the national debt, strengthening the military and easing government regulation of business. […]

… Ryan adds that the GOP needs “a transition from being an opposition party to being a proposition party.” …

Please Mr. Ryan. Tell us your priorities so we can know what you will fail to accomplish this term.

Sean Hannity begged Ryan months ago to publicly formalize the party’s agenda. He hasn’t done so.

Yes, it does seem Speaker Ryan is all hat and no cattle.

The only problem with being a self-defined “opposition” is that the Democrats and their anti-Constitutional left-wing agenda get defined by default as the “normal” status quo and the pro-Constitutional types get pigeonholed as outsiders. It should be the other way around, especially since the GOP are the majority and are pro-Constitution at least per party platform.

However, Ryan’s stance is clearly that of support of a “Uniparty”.

Oh man, is Ryan a wimpy dweeb or what?
A "proposition party?"
What the hell does that mean?
If you're not in opposition to Obama and his DemoRATS then you're SUPPORTING them.
Paul Ryan, why are you in the House of Representatives?
What are you trying to accomplish there?
What on earth does your Republican Party really stand for?

This from an idiot that lied about his own marathon time. He is as corrupt as any liberal democrat. This freak is cutting checks to pay for Obama’s refugees. Lying Ryan is a social justice liberal.

“Surrender” implies they stood for something to begin with, something they believed in furthermore; but by their actions they clearly show that they oppose their own stated platform.

By saying “proposition party”, Ryan really is saying “collaboration party”, i.e. if they intend to not formalize the Uniparty in name and maintain the thin pretense of two parties.

I regard halting illegal immigration and deporting illegals as a positive proposition. Ryan does not.

I've been trying to educate Ryan that the democrats are the opposition party, and they are opposed to everything the Framers built, and only moron Republicans are trying to emulate the democrats in that endeavor. But he just doesn't (refuses to ?) comprehend.

You can’t go from defense to offense when you haven’t even been on defense, you have surrendered. An opposition party would be a refreshing change Mr. Ryan!

And really with the stellar defense the Republican Party has played the last 20 yrs. if I were a Democrat I would laugh myself hysterical at Ryan’s suggestion of a Republican Party on offense.

At this point the Republican Party is just waiting for the birds to come and cover them with leaves, it is a joke as a political party.

So - Ryan makes this statement on a morning show that nobody watches (In an interview on “CBS This Morning” Tuesday.....), and is posted on an NPR website as reported by the AP.

He and the other GOPe just don't get it - these statements and sound bites that they make are meant to mollify the left and the MSM and not the Republican base. No amount of self immolation is going to get any of them to change their mind about Republican's. Just go out there and do what you know needs to be done and don't worry about currying favor with the left, it aint never gonna happen.

This wouldn't happen, Senator Apaulling Ryan, if the GOP weren't always opposed to GOP policies. Thanks Olog-hai.

And this is exactly why we need Trump!
