Trump relentlessly mocks Kasich: 'I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion'

Donald Trump relentlessly mocked Ohio Gov. John Kasich's campaign-trail eating habits on Monday.

During a rally in Rhode Island, the Republican presidential frontrunner said that the Ohio governor should learn from Trump's children, whom Trump has urged to eat modest portions of food.

"Did you see him? He has a news conference all the time when he's eating. I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion," Trump said of Kasich.

He continued: "I'd say, 'Children, small, little bites.' This guy takes a pancake and he's shoving it in his mouth. It's disgusting. Do you want this guy for your president?"

Trump's critical view of Kasich's eating comes less than a day after the governor announced an alliance with Sen. Ted Cruz to consolidate anti-Trump voters in the remaining primary states. Kasich canceled campaign events in Indiana, where public polling shows that Cruz could take home a portion of the delegates, while Cruz has promised not to seriously campaign in Oregon and New Mexico.

After a brief detour in which he criticized Kasich's support for the North American Free Trade Agreement in the 1990s, Trump returned to insulting Kasich's eating habits.

"I've never seen a guy eat like this," Trump said.

Kasich has recently made headlines for his healthy appetite at campaign stops, scheduling press availabilities during appearances at delis and diners. On Monday, he discussed his anti-Trump alliance with Cruz during a campaign stop at a Philadelphia diner.

Etiquette must apply... imagine what candidate would represent the United States at a formal dinner with our allies.

My parents taught us to be very proper, also. No elbows on the table. Napkin on your lap. Passing not grabbing. It was the way things were done back then. And we were the average family around town.

Good rules for politicians! Or anybody in the public eye for that matter. When I'm at a business lunch or dinner, I'm very careful about what I eat. For example, I would never order something like spaghetti or pizza because it's hard to eat that neatly and lot of risk of getting something on your shirt or tie. I stick to what you can eat neatly with knife and fork, like a steak or fillet of fish. Veggies I can pick up easily with a fork like brussels sprouts or carrots. No broccoli or spinach as that can get stuck between your teeth. All these things to worry about!

Does anybody remember Trump at a diner a few weeks ago right before Wisconsin primary? He had his breakfast in front of him and he let it go cold because he had the press in there filming him. He didn't start eating until the cameras turned off - if he even ate that meal at all.

Not really....manners still count. And it’s really annoying to see people “pig” food down.

In Iowa, Trump had one of those meat on a stick handed to him, or corn dog. He took one small bite and pitched it. lol. All the rest of these politician eat like it’s no tomorrow. Hillary is the worst, hot dogs... corn etc. Since Iowa I’ve never seen Trump stuffing food in his mouth.

The guy dressed impeccably every day.

- Kasich voted for the “Assault” Weapons Ban. https://grabien.com/file.php?id=53463 and as of last year did not regret that vote

- Kasich supported and implemented Obamacare’s Medicare expansion http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/john-kasich-bible-medicaid_us_56140a54e4b022a4ce5fb1e3

- Kasich supports Amnesty for illegals. http://www.ontheissues.org/John_Kasich.htm

- Kasich dismissively said Christian bakers should “bake the cupcake” and participate in a gay parody of the sacrament of marriage, even if it violates their religious beliefs. https://www.frcaction.org/updatearticle/20160225/kasich-pushes

- Kasich supports Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/john-kasich-id-consider-nominating-merrick-garland-supreme-court-election-2016/

All that, and the worst Trump will say about Kasich is that he has bad table manners? Even if it’s true, I find that sad.

Those were the days. I frequently see what I call the trifecta of bad table manners: Bringing out the cellphone at the table, talking into cell phone with food in mouth, and wearing hat while eating (hat is usually a one size fits all worn backwards). If it were legal, these slobs would also smoke cigarettes at the dinner table. They should be horse whipped!

We were taught 3 long strands of spaghetti and roll it on a spoon. Dad and mom took us to a nice restaurant to try out our talents.

My daughter still eats nicely and so do my grandchildren....but my son in law eats like Kasich.
