A Schilling for Your Thoughts: Every Sportscaster Political Now
The American Spectator ^ | 22 April 2016 | Larry Thornberry

Posted on 04/25/2016 10:57:11 AM PDT by Rummyfan

I’ve had to discard a pretty good gag that I’ve trotted out, to good reception, many times over the years, to wit: One of the main differences between men and women is that women have PMS while men have ESPN. A much better deal.

The network is less of a good deal now, for either sex, now that its executives appear to be more interested in advancing left political causes than they are in televising sports. One could be forgiven for supposing the network’s initials stand for Every Sportscaster Political Now. There’s not a leftist hobby-horse that this network doesn’t ride hard and put up wet. And in certain rarified circles, such as the ESPN executive suites in Bristol, Connecticut, suggesting any difference between the sexes is actionable.

Consider the dispiriting case of Curt Schilling.....

....

But no, the dead serious progressives at ESPN did not fire Schilling for what would have been just cause. They cast him into outer darkness for clinging to the belief, held by everyone on the planet until recently, that male persons should use the gents’ and female persons the ladies,’ and for having the temerity to publicly proclaim this. That this unremarkable and common sense view should be in the least controversial, let alone a firing offense, shows just how far down the rabbit-hole we’ve fallen. Not to mention how deluded and intolerant our ruling elites have become.

The problem, I think, is that ESPN has outlived its usefulness: it was a great idea in the early days of national cable channels to reach a collection of niche markets (baseball fans, hockey fans, etc.), but it is no longer necessary with the proliferation of TV and post-TV methods of obtaining sports. The only way it can keep itself relevant in the eyes of those who regulate the media is to hug the liberal standards as tightly as possible, knowing it will lose audience for its non-sports-event shows, but it will be able to stay in the cable cabal for a while longer.

Georgia Surgeon general loses his job because he preached for traditional marriage. Curt Shilling loses his ESPN job because he twittered his pro-family beliefs. Bruce Springsteen cancel NC appearance because of traditional bathroom law. IBM threatens to pullout of Miss. because of support for traditional marriage. Cake business owners in NW get fined for 225,000$ and given a gag order for not making a “gay: cake. Photographers in NM are sanctioned for not doing sodomite weddings. The list goes on and on. Wells Fargo has rainbow banners on office buildings. The list of modern day abominations goes on and on. People with traditional beliefs are in the gunsights of our culture, big business, democrates, and GOPe.

There are some interesting articles and blogs out there on the future of ESPN, particularly since it is believed to have lost 2 million “cable cutters” in the past year or two.

SportsCenter took alot of hits, that its usefulness has been supplanted by instant scores/videos etc.

And that ESPN has locked itself into annual commitments of $6 BILLION for sports rights for years to come.

This garbage is really MSNBC with some sports thrown in, it’s that bad.

It’s on in our conference room at work doing the day. You literally can’t watch 10 minutes straight without being confronted with some sort of left-leaning political messaging.

Just one of thousands of examples...The Flint Michigan water contamination. What does it have to do with sports? Nothing. But the typical hook used is, find a local sports team impacted by the story, and voila there you have it. They simply use sports as a pretext to further a broader agenda.

The Marxists know that the control of Words and Language is essential to the control of desires and beliefs and is especially powerful on the young. Marketing of ideas is powerful for forming “proper” perceptions in adults also-—(research Eddy Bernays—Freud’s nephew).

Research the new book on Ty Cobb. Look how generations have believed the lies put out in magazines/TV/Books about Ty Cobb, designed to destroy him by envious people—literally made people “hate” him. That is the power of “perception creation” by the Press. Teddy Roosevelt understood the power of the press back in 1900—even without TV. With images—they can warp a one year old and normalize anything. Ray Bradbury stated that MSM is for addiction and distraction (destroy seeking the Truth and destroy real relationships-—real Wisdom/education). (Destroy Virtue (Wisdom).

They have virtually flipped Good and Evil in two generations....2000 years of belief——poof——back to the pagan child-killing/sacrificial, sodomy/pederasty days of Greece and Rome and Persia and todays’ Afghanis and Freemason Lucifereans like the super elite Soros/Kissinger types who wear robes and worship Moloch in their sodomite orgies with boy sacrifices.

They are after the REAL boys-—the ones watching “sports” with their daddies. My son noted way before the Superbowl that he couldn’t subject his son to the Viagra ads and all the sick, creepy stuff that they try to force into the innocent minds of boys to warp their perceptions of males and objectify their mothers/sisters——to destroy moral formation of children.

The Cultural Marxists knew to control Culture they could control the Mind of all the little children. Control their desires and destroy Virtue formation (that which is necessary for Self-Reliance/Individualism/thinking for self).

And so they took over Hollywood —all sodomites/pedophiles now-—Corey Feldmen stated in 70s/80s, and took over the “education” (indoctrination) system to destroy virtue formation and hyper-sexualize young children to destroy possibility of Freedom. Vice creates slaves only.

It is all to collapse civil society and groom the boys for their drugged-filled orgies and slavery, like Corey Feldman stated. I wouldn’t ever subject any young children to “TV/Movies-—and esp. ones with commercials today. They now can put kissing homosexuals on MSM —a sick evil concept to commodify/sexualize young children into irrational, unnatural behaviors-—”for the children”-—to normalize paganism/satanism and eliminate the Christian (only Rational religion) worldview which created Free Will and Individualism and our “Justice” System. They need to flip Good and Evil so socialism/slavery is the only thing left-—and the children will be happy with their little orgy systems-—like the little boys in the harems of Afghanistan....it becomes “normal”-—whatever they see and do and they will always be easily controlled by the elites and crumbs.

I watch some of their games, but none of the pre and post hype shows or their opinion-oriented specials.

I’ll second that. Leftists may as well come out state what they believe: Christianity is the evil in this country, and the first Amendment should be radically changed.

The list you compile is basically the reason I will no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance or stand for the Star Spangled Banner. I don’t know this country anymore.

But no, the dead serious progressives at ESPN ...

These people aren't progressives. A true progressive is an advocate of real progress. That means we must provide a better world to our children and grandchildren than the one we had as children: better schools, better homes, better security, better transportation systems and above all, more and better jobs. To achieve this goal, we have to burn lots of fossil fuels because the alternatives are too expensive. Today's so-called "progressives" want wind power and solar power, even though they're twice as expensive.

They aren't liberals either -- not that John Locke would recognize as liberals. A true liberal supports individual liberty without government infringement as long as exercise of that liberty does not endanger or harm anyone. Today's so-called "liberals" would welcome a broad assortment of government infringements on religious liberty and on the right to keep and bear arms.

So they aren't liberal and they aren't progressive. And I call them what they really are: hate-filled left-wing extremists. The lunatics of the left-wing fringe.
