What started as a would-be arrest at a Kansas motel ended with four federal agents shot and the motel engulfed in flames.

Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service's Fugitive Task Forces were looking for a suspect Saturday night at the Country Club Motel, Topeka police Lt. Colleen Stuart said.

But when they reached the motel, someone opened fire and struck two U.S. marshals, an FBI agent and a fourth federal agent, Stuart said. It was not immediately clear which agency the fourth agent belonged to.

Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, Stuart said.

What will the owner of the hotel do?

I’m guessing if he goes to the government to get help rebuilding, he’ll be told “too bad buddy, you should be more careful who you rent rooms to.”

This right after being told by the government that he has to rent to felons.

The Federal court system is corrupt and very expensive. The public defenders are clowns. This was just suicide by cop or the perp watched to many movies and thought he could get away under the cover of the fire. I will predict more of this behavior as the reality of the desperate times we live in passes through the denial stage. It will self feed as the Feds bring more “resources” to every arrest and the perps become more desperate - especially when the .gov turns it’s attention to the hard core patriot community.

Count 4. Filling his cooler from the ice machine.

Yep. That’s an actualactual federal crime. Basically if you rob a gas station, the feds can get jurisdiction over it if they want to. There are ways for them to get jurisdiction over almost anything if a firearm is involved or if anything involving “interstate commerce” is involved. It’s ridiculous.

Or the perp dropped a load.
When a fireman fights a forest fire he is given a bag.
When you are on the line for days, your bag had better have fecal matter in it or you are in trouble

In 1 minute and 30 seconds you will get to Dick Gregory. I have this started at a great point to catch the significant part, including a song he put on an album (CD here).

This story stinks....reminds me of the 90’s when Clinton’s former bodyguards kept meeting untimely demises shortly after transfering out of the SS.

Actually, it’s not clear that the target is dead. They found a body but haven’t IDed it yet.

However, a fire set by a criminal to burn up a different body and use as cover for an escape requires more forward-thinking than Orlando has, I’d bet.
