What started as a would-be arrest at a Kansas motel ended with four federal agents shot and the motel engulfed in flames.
Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service's Fugitive Task Forces were looking for a suspect Saturday night at the Country Club Motel, Topeka police Lt. Colleen Stuart said.
But when they reached the motel, someone opened fire and struck two U.S. marshals, an FBI agent and a fourth federal agent, Stuart said. It was not immediately clear which agency the fourth agent belonged to.
Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, Stuart said.

Well, either they found their guy, or they found another guy they needed to find.
Probably the U.S. Department of Non Gender Specific Toilets.
I read another article. I was wondering about the feds’ jurisdiction and it said robbery interfering with interstate commerce. Sort of scary.
The FBI confirms that they were trying to locate Orlando Collins, 28, at the Country Club Motel when members of the U.S. Marshal Task Force Service came under fire inside the hotel room.
A suspect who has been named the most wanted man in Northeast Kansas was involved in a shootout with police Saturday night at the Country Club Motel in Topeka.
Sounds more like an ambush. Whoever it was, was waiting for them. Set the hotel on fire for a distraction to escape?
The fact that they didn’t reveal the name of the suspect, or why he was wanted, bothers the hell out of me.
Orlando “extra crispy” Collins....

Our esteemed president says there are too many people i n prison. I’m envisioning an ankle bracelet , $15 and hour and an obamaphone with a Black Lives Matter T-shirt.
Not good reporting.
Even if it was a bad bust, you don’t open fire on federal agents.
You submit to arrest and fight it out in the system.
Those raw milk salesmen can get rough, apparently..!

Yeah, I think Orlando may have skipped a step or two
Amazing that no hits were mortal with all the shots.
“Also uncertain: whether the suspect was still inside or managed to escape.”
My guess is DEA was the fourth. Or maybe it was one of the EPA’s swat team. He may have went for a walk in the woods and broke a stick or something.
Maybe. I'd suspect employment of flash-bangs by LE.
How long did it take for Tommy Lee Jones to seal off a five mile perimeter?
