This sort of crap is an old GOP-E tactic pulled by Dewey and Eisenhower against Robert Taft in 1952 and it worked as Ike's supporters piously pranced about the convention floor with pre-printed picket signs reading Thou Shalt Not Steal to unseat the Texas delegation chosen by whatever means, most likely state convention in those days.

Or they could make bus full of Trump delegates keep circling the convention site. [Link]

How horrifying! I *do* hear you. It is the total break down of democracy if the people’s will is being heard out here in little people land, and openly thwarted.

They will sacrifice anything for the globalist agenda if they play the same heavy handed games of the past, back when the people were mowing their lawns and paying no attention and had no understanding of Civics 101 and delegates and suppression of many, the rejection of even more and replacing them with those of an opponent.

The people are awake and are becoming more alert everywhere.
In the upcoming state conventions, Trump supporters have to lie and say they are for Cruz to even hope for just an even chance to be elected, in many of these districts caucuses at State.

I heard a man by the name of Doug Wead, now a convention historian, a Libertarian who worked for Ron Paul, and ten other presidential candidates, and worked for GW Bush. He said on Lou Dobbs, what you are indicating, that while all eyes are on the RULES COMMITTEE, it is the Credentials Committee that the real conflicts will take place.

He also added that TRUMP does have standing to challenge some of these Cruz delegates who were “stolen” from him in the states where he won and where he was allocated “earned delegates” that are now known as Cruz supporter delegates.

It is all too underhanded and smoky for words, but I do appreciate what you are saying and your keen knowledge of the whole game.

I agree with you totally, coming from you, what is possible and we are left on our knees to pray for God’s mercy. We deserve to be abandoned, but I pray we are not.

Thank you, dearest BlackElk, forever friend, and teacher of all things good and admonishment of all things bad.

Love to you and Mrs. Elk and may Spring warm you both, inside and out. Rita.

PS: Let me know if you ever hear from *NL from your old ping list.

Read what I posted to RitaOk at #78. Uniformity is hard to impose on people with good faith objections. If Trump is nominated (not a certainty, see #78), I will vote for him as will most of his opponents here. If we don't care for Trump, we really hate, loathe and despise both Demonrats.

It is also my instinct that at least some here pick fights over nominees to undermine you and your website no matter WHO they claim to support for POTUS. One cannot surgically identify them with certainty. Free Republic MUST be a permanent thing. Whether Trump is remains to be seen.

There is and always has been a GOP-E. We need to kill it off. I've been trying since the antics of Nelson Rockefeller, George Romney and William Scranton in 1964. I probably won't be living when it happens or when Roe vs. Wade is finally overturned or when a lot of other unfinished business occurs. I do hope to observe those good results or Jesus's final victory at Armageddon, whichever comes first, from a perch in heaven if I make it there. Maybe I will get to meet you in person when you arrive. I hope so because your health and mine make that unlikely in this life.

If bashing Trump is counterproductive, so is the bashing of Cruz and his supporters. You want all those votes to go to a legitimate nominee. So do I and so do many combatants here who nonetheless insist on poisoning the well. The actual nominee has a bigger stake in the outcome than do those who supported other candidates. We all suffer under the Medusa if she is elected. I won't co-operate with her election positively or negatively. I DO want Trump to clean up his act in his interest, and more importantly in the country's interest. That is not unreasonable.

I don't believe you intend to run FReepers off simply for disagreeing with you or for not agreeing with Trump. Our disagreements with Trump do not make us one bit less patriotic or conservative or ready for a death struggle against Her Royal Thighness. Before arriving here many years ago, I was thrown off Lucianne.com and I have never looked back. I have never had that vibe here and you run a far better site.

As always, may God bless you and yours and assist your battle against diabetes and other ailments. Please continue to keep my health in your prayers as I keep yours in mine.

If the GOPe and the RNC keep screwing around, the next Republican Convention will be held in the Banquet Room of some local Deeny’s.

This delegate was in the news last month for being something of a gadfly. I think for years he’s been arguing to change the rules and unbind all delegates.

I agree.

You know, at least publicly, I think some of them are beginning to grasp that too.

They may be working behind the scenes, and to be honest, I’m sure they are, but they are also seeing the need to make public statements to quell the unrest.

If they trounce Trump, we’ll vote with our feet first...

Even in non general election years, that is the case also.

If they goof around with Trump, I will rethink that strategy.

If my votes don’t count, why should I give them to the RNC?

I was invited by another to join a rebellious site for those disgruntled against JimRob among our old friends including NL but my reaction was about the same as Peter's when asked whether he would abandon Christ: Where else would I go, Master?

Well, JimRob is not at that level as a mere but outstanding mortal, but thinking of all available alternatives, there is simply nowhere else worth going to. Bruised and battered as we are here in recent months, FR is STILL where the action is.

I don't know Doug Wead who is probably too young for my time. I do know Roger Stone, Paul Manafort and Charlie Black (he works for Kasich). Most of all, I know longtime Virginia Republican National Committeeman. He is supporting Cruz but by now, that would be only from not wanting Trump. Back in the day, he was my mentor. I met Stone and Black through Young Americans for Freedom, Manafort as their associate in Young Republicans and Blackwell in College Republicans. Blackwell may stay in to be able to represent serous conservative ideologues in any convention deal that is struck. If HE should abandon Cruz, his army of well-trained activists will follow him right out that door. He is far closer to all of this than most of us are and we will walk through walls over burning coals and beds of nails in loyalty to the best and most principled man I have ever encountered in politics. He has trained generations of activists to know and feel in every cell of their bodies that "good principle makes good politics." OTOH he also believes that we should settle when we get a very high percentage of what we want.

I am not fond of Manafort and Black but both are are quite competent. So is Roger Stone but he is an undisciplined embarrassment with major skeletons in his closet and bats in his belfry. Look for Roger to be coordinating the dancing bears and street demonstrations. They won't want him in on negotiations. Focus on Manafort, Black and Blackwell as major players. They have experienced it all for forty years and more and forgotten little but what little they have forgotten is more than their candidates know or ever will know. None of the three are ever to be underestimated.

If Trump does what I would wish, he would appoint only civilized young right-wing judges to SCOTUS and other fedcourts, learn the words and music of the pro-life movement and make credible credentials on that issue, continue his excellent Second Amendment commitment, keep his very fine promises to veterans, keep the diployakkers in chains in dungeons which seems like what he would do, beef up the military to be such a totally intimidating force as never to be challenged, exclude further Muslim immigration for as far as the eye can see in this emergency, yes close the Southern border for the foreseeable future and send a lot of illegals home but respectfully, eliminate useless government departments (Edjumakashun, Energy, Agriculture, Labor, Commerce, most of State, most of Injustice, HUD, HHS, etc). That would put the government on a severe diet. Bureaucracies to be eliminated: Where to begin? Turn BATF into a convenience store. Eliminate EPA, ohhh time is just too short. Give me that red pencil and America will prosper again and will really become GREAT again.

Meanwhile, if they yell: Look over here! It is the Rules Committee, keep a sharp eye on Credentials as well. If they try this it will be a last minute blitzkrieg that cannot be responded to in the narrow time left. Don't put it past them to call cops onto the convention floor to "deal with" dissent.

God bless you and yours, as ever! Keep me in your prayers as I keep you in mine.

That is why GOP-E job #1 was to pressure Trump into vowing not to run third party.

They are in your house, stealing all the furniture and appliances and jewelry while you keep on riding that hobby horse on your front porch. Your REAL enemy in the party IS the GOP-E and in America is the Hildebeast. Focus.

The GOP-E must be as convinced as you are that The Donald cannot be forced to knuckle under to the GOP-E. That's why they oppose him. While you are busy resenting Cruz, the GOP-E is busy stealing your eyeteeth. Their instruments will be Credentials Committee and Rules Committee. If, as many Trump supporters claim, te RNC and GOP-E would rather Hillary than Trump (which I do not doubt), they will steal it at the last minute at the convention by credentials and rules fights.

You and Trump's supporters will throw a collective tantrum but the GOP-E won't care or will be glad if you do. They will be on their Gulfstreams on the way back to their cushy digs on K Street while the rioting grows in and around the convention center. For major considerations rendered, the GOP-E will then elect the Medusa. The public be darned (or something like that). Trump ain't coming back at 74 in 2016. Many of his supporters will abandon politics permanently. Won't the GOP-E love that? The profits will really roll as never before in an alliance between the GOP-E and the Clinton Family Crime Foundation.

I really dislike Ron Paul, among other things for the kneejerk "peace" nonsense. Others may disagree. But that is the point. We all have that right to disagree and so did Ron Paul.

Whether I or anyone else liked Ron Paul or not, he won some number of delegates. He deserved a full and respectful hearing and to be placed in nomination and seconded by any delegates of his choice and to embarrass Romney as he saw fit (whatever Paul's shortcomings, Romney was FAR worse). I said and posted all that at the time although I had been ridiculing Ron Paul for years.

BTW, I find Rand Paul far better than his dad. I also don't always agree with Rand but I find him as principled as his dad and a hell of a lot more marketable than his dad He has made some major innovative contributions both as a Senator and as a POTUS candidate. That should be encouraged.

Don't give up your cause.

And the probable mystery candidate(s) to be named later, a few hours before the roll call on the nomination. They will also seek to unbind every delegate (allowed by law according to a SCOTUS decision in 1972 that party rules prevail over statutes except in cases of racial discrimination. You take too much for granted. These folks in GOP-E are absolute snakes.

Yes, I did, and that is a LOT better than taking up permanent eternal residence there. I am a Roman Catholic and we are seldom accused of being "Bible banger boys" Capitalize Bible or Sacred Scripture always, BTW. You have a problem with the Bible? Where does it prohibit using the word "hell?"

FReeper Elsie has a tagline that is apropos to the effect that: Heck is where people who don't believe in Gosh don't think they are going. Elsie is a Reformed Christian. She and I agree on that tagline of hers, however. How about you?

Haugland explained the primary number is really an estimate.

Maybe I should explain to Haugland that I've been holding my nose to vote for the GOPee candidate, except to vote for Palin.

It's a short step to refusing to hold my nose, to perhaps ACTIVELY undermining the Establishment patsy.
