I bet all these environmentalists are liberals...
To: mandaladon
Many, no doubt.
The way the environmental movement was co-opted by the open borders lobby, and became simply an other left wing special interest, is a fascinating story.

1970...Isn’t that the same timeframe that we were headed towards the next ice age?
To: mandaladon
Well the end of civilization pretty much has happened.
When Bill Clinton was re-elected despite his sleazy and illegal record. Then to make sure we were gone, we elected then re-elected the Marxist/Communist.

Well, the predictions weren’t entirely wrong. We certainly have seen the end of civilization.

Oh yes. I was a high school student back then. We were all going to freeze to death unless we did pretty much the same thing the global warming cult wants us do now: turn over all political and economic control to them.

I fell for the gloom and doom forecasts back then but was turned around by Ben Wattenberg’s book, THE GOOD NEWS IS THE BAD NEWS IS WRONG.

Life Magazine claimed that people would have to wear gas masks in cities in ten years due to pollutionI remember very well that our Junior HS science textbooks in the mid 1970s showed a picture of people walking in the street with gas masks on and dark skies in daytime. They were teaching doom and gloom for the planet even back then.

To a point and I wouldn't say all of them. Then, we learned.
