The survey at the source site asked;

Do environmentalists make up predictions or are they wrong?

I didn’t answer it because they want an email address and I don’t want any more spam.

Earth Day which probably got it’s start with Rachael Carson’s “Silent Spring”.

That book is probably the most harmful force for the world other than Satan who I am sure is behind it and many others which mislead people.

There are some teachers from back in that day that I owe for traumatizing my young impressionable brain so carelessly back then.
I now hunt them down in nursing homes and bring them a nice dense foam pillow to place on their face. (kidding...sort of)

On the other hand...maybe I should actually thank them for turning me into such a cynical truth seeking conservative.

Calling it junk science is an insult to JUNK, and science.

Well; Rachel Carson did manage to kill off millions of people with the banning of DDT.
So perhaps she accomplished her mission; fewer people, better planet.

Yup....frightening times when this stuff passes for any kind of science.

This was one of the first "adult" books I read. I found it on my mother's bookshelf when I was about 8 years old. Scared the hell out of me. I thought I was not going to survive to adulthood and for at least a short time, I started hoarding Tootsie Rolls and caramel creams under my bed. Paul Ehrlich was the "Al Gore" of the early 1970s.

Back in 1968, he had the human race starving to death by 1990. When that didn't happen, he came out with pretty much the same book and pushed the date back another 20 years. Now it's 2016 and this alarmist is still alive and kicking, breathing our air and eating our food.
